Is it too late to enter? If not, I would like to make my humble submission. I will search for pics, but I will only have them if I happened to send the pics to my friends on my current email (don't remember).

To preface this story, I will state that like most people.....I dread going to the in-laws events. Actually, I avoid them like the plague. Nice people, but damn there are some morons in the bunch. Plus a brother in law that is rude enough to make anyone not go, but that's another story.

So anyway, I decided that since I never go to the inlaws family events, that I should probably make it out to their Christmas. When I got there, it was typical as usual. Not enough seats, not enough food for everyone, and 90 degrees. I got to sit and listen to some inbreds talk about guns and shooting animals for hours. About this time, the grandma lets me know there is beer in the garage kitchen if I wanted some....sure did!

6 beers later, and my nerves calmed down to just under the boiling point it was time to pass out presents. My wife and I put a lot of thought into gifts for others, including her sister, her husband I'd like to curb stomp, and their children. As to be expected, we didn't even get as much as a card, or a thank-you from them. No surprise.

As the presents dwindled down to almost nothing and feeling a little left out, there it was in all it's glory............an 18 pack of coors light (this is not the kicker, please keep reading). I thought well.....that's pretty redneck, and not my usual brand.....but that's cool.

When the silver cube of goodness was handed my way, I noticed some packing tape on the box....hmm. As it turns out, my hopes and aspirations of a .15 BAC that day were immediately dashed. No hops and barley to speak of. The beer package was actually just redneck packaging for the real gift, which was even more inbred. I opened the box to find.......one US gallon of Pennzoil 10w-30. That's right folks, motor oil. My sole gift for Christmas from them was MOTOR OIL.

Want to know the best part? He got his daughter (my wife) THE SAME THING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have post dated emails confirming this story to 2004 if anyone doubts me. 2004 was also the final year I went to any inlaw sanctioned events, not by coincidence.

TxQ's gets my vote hands down.

I personally thought the EX was creative and inventive with the gift.

TxQ did well to hold her own.

it's the thought that counts, right?

can you imagine what he thought of her over the years? she really didn't count.

I voted for her as well...it totally boggled my mind. :good:
