Excerpt:

News Group Trasher Caught!

Since June 2000, the Main News Group here on CRE Online has been continuously and repeatedly terrorized by a would be "anonymous" poster. In the early days, we thought the culprit would just go away, as many other cowards have before. But it never stopped.

During the past eight months or so, we have saved over 600 posts written by this coward, who used a wide variety of fake names and email addresses. And that's only part of what we removed because, in the early stages, we thought he would just go away.

These posts ranged from downright filth to harassment to outward threats to various visitors here.

So far, we have spent almost $20,000 on investigators and legal fees to track down and identify this culprit. We were waiting for him to be served with our lawsuit against him before identifying him publicly. He was served today (April 17, 2001) at 2:15 PM Phoenix Time.

The lawsuit has been filed in the Superior Court for the State of California for the County of San Diego.

Case No: GIC 762028

The lawsuit is captioned: CRE ONLINE, INC. v. JIM LA VERDI

UPDATE: On May 22, 2002 CRE Online, Inc. was awarded a Judgment against Jim La Verdi and in favor of CRE Online, Inc.

The Court also issued a Permanent Injunction against Jim La Verdi. Here is the Court's Order:

IT IS HEREBY ORDERED, ADJUDGED AND DECREED THAT: a permanent injunction shall issue in favor of Plaintiff CRE Online, Inc. against Defendant Jim La Verdi enjoining Defendant Jim La Verdi, his agents, servants, assigns, and all those acting in concert with him, from:

Posting any messages, in any form whatsoever, on any CREOnline.com news group, web page, e-mail address, or any other location on the CREOnline.com website, or any website which is in any way affiliated with CREOnline.com, at any time in the future.
We want our many visitors and friends to know that this resource and this community belong to YOU and to all of us here. We will protect it.

Sincerely,

J.P. and Terry Vaughan

Just found that site. It looks pretty interesting. I want to broaden my horizons now that the major damage control is behind me.
