Was in Wal-Mart yesterday... the guy in front of me is paying with his credit card... the cashier asks to see his ID... this usually never happens at this particular Wal-Mart... they talk for a couple seconds, can't make out what they're saying... the guy shows him his ID... the cashier then swings his screen around and says "See? It says right here to check your signature, and I need to see your ID to compare it."... salamander! :)

Policy-bot cut-and-paste answers not necessary. We've all been through that routine.

The cashiers is not the salamander. It is the management does not understand, when it says compare signature. They mean compare to what they sign (The screen or the receipt). Not with your ID. I do not blame the cashier at all, he/she was told to do this.

That what I was trying to tell George that merchants do not understand the rules.

If you were there and saw this guy (the cashier) you might revise your statement. Let's just say he wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Also, like I said, this is NOT normally done at this particular Wal-Mart. Most cashiers check the sig on the card when they get this same prompt. I paid with my debit card, so it didn't happen to me. We'll see if they have new instructions next time I pay with a credit card.

I had to yell and scream at them just the other day over a $3.50 purchase at SELF-CHECKOUT when it asked to compare signatures. The dumb register clerk thinks compare signatures means compare the signature on my ID. I was so upset, I was sick could barely talk and I'm screaming at this girl, and she's screaming CSM LAQUITA! CSM LAQUITA! Then some other manager comes over and is like what's the problem, I explain the situation to him and he's like what's the problem, it says compare signatures, the signatures look fine to me. Sheeesh

But what I really want to know is: Are GEORGE and Continental twins separated at birth?

Some say his skin has the texture of a dolphin's, and that wherever you are in the world if you tune your radio to 88.4 you can actually hear his thoughts
