Do not provide it and fax it in.

That is of course assuming that he/she has a DUNS file and has been in business a suffient amount of time, then yes. If not they will have to provide it to have a chance at appoval, esp since it is a GEMB account.

I have three business accounts with Walmart business and my credit has never been run once. The Social is a way of identification and it is part of the Patriot Act.

Interesting Ivy. I have one Walmart Biz account and never provided my social.

BTW - 3 biz accounts for 3 diff biz's and no issues? Its something I've wondered for a while.

If you are a Sole Proprietorship, the Spectrrr...Patriot Act requires your social as identification, otherwise your companies EIN is sufficient, of course it doesn't surprise me how many people ignorantly believe anything if it has to do with the Patriot Act.

This Is what The Walmart app is saying about useing your Social Security Number

Before completing the following application, you should be able to answer 'YES' to the following statements.

1: I am willing to Personally Guaranty this account.

2: I have not filed for bankruptcy in the past three years.

3: I acknowledge that my credit history is clear of seriously delinquent accounts

About You
Federal law requires us to obtain, verify and record information that
identifies you when you open an account. We will use your name, address,
date of birth and other information for this purpose.

it will not let my pass the Social Security Number up it makes you fill it all in

Yeah they are GECRB. I am not sure if they require a PG or not. It makes you enter one online so I have never bothered.

Sounds like it might be worth a shot though

Thick file with a long business history considering I don't know of any one that has been approved. It's geared towards larger businesses and that is why they want the PG for most businesses. Not your typical GE backed account!

This is an old thread! It appears that you may not be able to fax in your app like in the old days anymore, you must do it online now! And the option not to PG is no longer available it seems!

Only the Community Card available to governmental agencies and non-profit organizations can be faxed in now!

gotcha.....I had gotten turned down by Target for not having a thick enough file

Target was always a hard one also.. Again for bigger companies..

Their underwriting dept told us once that before they made a credit decision, their ''model'' needed to see 10 trade lines reporting on Experian Business. Apparently, they do not even review the app if those trade lines are not reflected on the report! More companies are reporting to Experian these days so it may not be as hard as long as the trade lines are there.
