Just thought I'd add my experience here. Reading success stories helps me keep going when the process takes a while...

I just finished my student loan rehab program for the Direct Loans (mine were unsubsidized). Once I finished, they sent me a letter saying they would remove negative remarks but I wasn't sure if it was all or just the defaulted remarks.

The next month, my Equifax & TransUnion score had risen 50 points and were showing no negative remarks for all the years of my loan!! Yeah!!

Experian hasn't updated yet and they have been reporting several defaulted student loans totaling much more then my loan. I entered a dispute to try and have them update quicker.

Congrats.... : )

Also thanks for that info. My BF has 2 more payments on his rehab and I was wondering if it ture about his SL bad marks would go away after someone picks it up.

Thank you so much for the info. I was just sitting here, depressed again about all of the people who have recovered so quickly and my situation is just dragging on. I can't wait until I make my last payment. I'm trying to figure out how many payments have I made this far. Looking for bank statements. :(
