Thanks for the well wishes at the competition. It's gonna be a tough one though. There are some amazing players out there that come out of music schools and conservatories..and they usually win. I myself am a University of Florida grad, and it would be really neat to see someone like me make it into the finals. It would show that it doesn't matter where your degree is from!! This is my last year of eligibility for the Young Artist competition since I am turning 30 in April.

 

We have preliminary tapes that are due on March 6th. Then they select 25. In August, the 25 get cut to 6, and then the next day get cut to 3, and those three take 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I think 1st gets 5k, 2nd 2.5k and 3rd gets 1k. The competition is in Albuquerque. For those that wanna know more about it (lol, like you do) you can google the National Flute Association.

 

Oh and for those who wanna hear some clips, you can send me a PM and I will point you to my myspace music page.
