Was told by VS (on the phone) that they dont consider CLI until account is 9 months old?? Can anyone verify this? This small limit doesn't cut it.

What about CLI with Old Navy? How old should account be before I bother trying anymore?

Yep I'm on the CLI train... choo chooo :)

ON is GEMB - CLI after 4 months of payment history. Daniel reported that it must be 4 months in a row, but I don't know if that is 100% accurate. I've only had my ON since August, only 2 statements so far I think.

VS is WFNNB - it MAY be 9 months, I don't have that card anymore. They do have a luv button online, try that.

Had ON card since May 06. About 6 months. Carry balance because i read daniel's comments a while back. Only have $200 limit.

How long have you been carrying a balance? I don't think you have to actually pay interest/carry a balance, but you probably do need to have a statement generate with a balance each month for 4 consecutive billing cycles.

Yeah no go with ON. I couldnt really understand her that well but she said they review payment history for 4-6 months as well as credit scores? Oh well...

Really... that sucks :clapping:

The first month I easily put through $120. The month after that around $60. Current month I'm sitting around $45, statement cuts soon. Next month I was planning on being in the $50 range and trying for a CLI in time for post-Christmas shopping.

The denials I've gotten when I've clicked the button always say "Your account does not reflect 4 months of payment history"

Yep that is what i usually get too! But i have had 4 months of history! ON was one of my most used store cards :clapping: boo on them.

Sorry about the denial...

I was peeved because 3 times did I go 3 months and then skipped a month or 2...then to find out they needed 4 months of payment history....

Which exec did they pay too much $$ to come up witht hat idea

The exec probably moonlights over at the Juny wheel-o-fortune approval desk. :yahoo:

I posted a while back about getting my GEMB (WM cli) It took no loess than 40 minutes on the phone, and I haven't had the energy to do the same for Gap, but I will. I talked to 4 different people, and they all have the same story - credit history, payment history... I had perfect payment history and my credit certainly has not gotten worse. Eventually the 4th guy caved.

Which makes me think, they CAN do it, they just choose not to. My ON card has been at $200 for more than a year now, I'm thinking I deserve better. And, unlike Kay.. or Zales, I actually use it quite a bit.

VS Angel Card $250CL open 12/xx/06> $430CL 06/xx/07 +$180 increase in 6 months...

So it can be possible in less than 9 months. I never requested an increase. I did use the heck out of that card & paid 3-6x the amount due for the first 3 months, then just over the minimum for the next 3 months. <_< Soon after I got the Pink card , they *upgraded* me to VIP - a white card ~ which frankly disappointed the heck out of me. I was VERY happy to have a P-I-N-K card in my pink wallet. UGH! White, why oh why.

I have no idea why the $180 increase though, such an odd amount although very glad to get it of course.

Sorry I don't have an Old Navy card so no history to share for that one.

As always, YMMV.

I got a Victoria's Secret in August 2006 and have received two credit line increases this year. I think the first one was in February and the last one was a couple of weeks ago. I found out about it while checking a credit report.

I had the VS card for one month before they automatically did a credit line increase. But then again, I did use that card quite a bit. They seem to like a lot of utilization and paydowns.
