Hi..new to the boards here. Just thought I'd say hi, this is filled with so much info, can't wait to get started on my journey to the 800 club!

Filed bk7 in 2005 due to business failure and my credit is a mess. Never thought I would want another loan or credit card ever again so didn't bother with credit repair since I planned on paying cash for everything, Just now realizing how important credit is in this country, so taking a stab at this now.

One question though, is there anything I can be doing whilst waiting for my paper reports to be mailed"

Just wanted to say hello, bye1.gif , to everyone. I am in the process of repairing my credit and I will definitely be spending hours reading this site. I know it's going to take a lot of patience and time, but I am in this for the long haul.

Hello to all,

I've been reading these boards daily for a while now (until my eyeballs are falling out of my head and nothing makes sense) and I think I'm starting to gain some understanding of how to proceed in my particular situation but then I'll read some more and then become unsure.

I want to have excellent credit without being obsessed with credit -- able to get an auto loan and a mortgage on the best terms and have a large enough combined CL that I can use credit when I need to without adversely affecting my score due to UT.

I've come to the conclusion that what I need is a creditboards mentor.
Scores all from 08/29/10: TU FICO 633, EQ FICO 538, EX Plus score 586
I have opted out
I"m waiting on the hard copies of my reports to arrive from the CRAs before I do anything else.
I have:
a federal tax lien $8600 obtained in 2007; just entered into a pmt agreement
a paid judgment ~$1000 not showing as paid ( have proof that it's paid and a motion to vacate filled out by the creditor law firm but it needs to be filed and I live 250 miles from there now), a $375 unpaid judgment that will probably disappear as soon as it's paid (based on another judgment from the same county court that was deleted when paid)
From 1 to 11 collections depending on the CRA. None of them is less than 30 day and the 11 total < $3000, the largest one being $1700 medical incurred in Nov 2005.
I have a open installment loan high $450 current bal $300 pmts $75 as agreed opened 05/10.
Was just approved for a 1st Premier Mastercard $300 limit. No other open TLs, a few closed not derogatory.
Inquiries 1 to 4 depending on the CRA.
Denied for a Kohl's and a CapOne CC in past 30 days

NONE of the 3 CRAs show my current address and I'm concerned about deleting old addresses and dramatically reducing the age of my files.

I don't want to start acting like I know what I'm doing and do myself more harm than good but on the other hand I want to get moving on getting my reports cleaned up.

If you read this far you must be a saint and I thank you! And I realize this may not be the place for all this info but hopefully someone will suggest the right spot and at least it's all typed out now FWIW.
