"Are you aware that's contrary to Visa's policy?"
"Yes, but we're going out of business."

ARE YOU GOING OUT OF BUSINESS BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FOLLOW VISA/MC RULES...YOU CAN'T AFFORD ALL THE FINES???Went to a local independent bookstore that is in the process of going out of business. Had a gift certificate. Bought book. Total: $29.16. Gift certificate was $20.00. Wanted to pay balance of $9.16 with Wells Fargo Visa...

A lot of these small businesses love screwing people...
You know, I dont want to bash any class of business, but I LIKE reading stuff like this because I get tired of always reading about how EVIL big corporations like Wal mart are and how Virtuous all these small businesses are that they "displace.' its good that not everyone drank that particular flavor of Kool Aid.

WERD...I've received far better customer service at "evil corporate giant" Wal-Mart than many "mom and pop" shops...hmmmm...maybe excellent customer service is a big reason why Wal-Mart is so successful...hint, hint...

Exactly, and Wal Mart is not setting a minimum price before which you can use Visa/MC

that said call for approval for sales of $0.01-->$0.99
Not denied...just you had to call for approval because the system wouldn't go THAT low...
That is not a minimum charge...the call will be made or the customer will buy something else to make it $1.00 or more or they will pay CASH
(didn't happen too often...USUALLY happened with the coupon users that have 10 coupons for free shampoo and they have to pay the sales tax)
THAT'S ANOTHER STORY (excessive coupon use)

Why do I sense a coupon rant being held back?
