I am a newbie with many many baddies and lots of them are medical bills. I have opted out, removed some addresses over the phone and have CMRRR attempts out now to remove addresses.

My first round of disputes with the CRAs are going to be the blanket not mine...do I include the medical bills that have gone to collection as well? I believe that they are all past the SOL for CA (which is 4 years I believe) and all bills are from private practicioners and hospitals (no govt or county).

I have just started to look at the hippa routine and its new and confusing to me. I dont want to make mistakes here, so I read read read and take notes until my eyes are bloodshot.

Thank you in advance :)

Thank you in advance :aggressive:

I suggest you dispute medical accounts with the "medical dispute letter" linked on the top of the HIPAA letter page on my website. (I personally do NOT like a "blanket not mine" dispute, as unless you have opted out, disputed old addresses and the accounts are fairly old, you MAY be better off with a handwritten dispute to the CRA, "No knowledge of account # xxxx from xxxx for this amount for this date, please provide me with the name and address of the original creditor and the reported date of first delinquency."

Ok....so far I am only working on the collection accounts and baddies on my TU report. I was able to opt out and get TU to remove all addresses except for my current address.

On the TU report there are:

Total of 17 adverse accounts, of which 11 are medical.

I am planning on sending a blanket not mine to TU, HOWEVER I am taking Why Chats advice and sending the dispute for the medical accounts. My question is this....do you recommend that the I send all disputes in 1 letter to TU or send them 2 separate letters; 1 with the medical dispute and 1 with the remainder.

Thanks again :)

:good: "COME BACK"??? I haven't gone anywhere.

I suggested you do the medical disputes in a seperate letter, ( and I will add, do not EVER dispute more than 2 or3 items at a time in any kind of dispute letter)

I suggested a different approach to the other accounts instead of a "blanket- not mine".

What is there that you need further informatin on from me??

Thank you thank you thank you

I just saw that you said to send the medical dispute letter for the medical....I did not know if I should combine or not.....now I know, thanks!

Im on my way to the post today with my first dispute and yes, Im little nervous. It was no big deal to get my previous addresses removed from the TU report, so Im going to clean this one up first. I appreciate you tellin me not to dispute more that 2-3 things per letter, as I was not aware of that either and was going to dispute them all.

Will let you know the outcome....Im wishing for the best!
