I was reading through some other posts and wanted to know if I could use this...

I have a medical bill from January 2000 for $150 that was paid by by insurance company in March 2000 in full. The doctors' group sent that bill to collections (which it shouldn't have) and I saw it on my credit report in 2003. I disputed it back then and had it removed--I had the papers from my insurance company stating that they paid that bill.

I applied for a mortgage in April/May of this year, and in June 2005 that same collection shows up suddenly (Didn't know about OPTING OUT). The CA seems to have been sold or renamed, but it's the same collection because the phone number was the same as the original CA back in 2003. Are they allowed to reput this back on after it had been disputed? It may be technically a different company if it was sold, but what do I do from here? I thought once it was removed it cannot be put back on!

PLEASE HELP! Thanks in advance!

Dispute it again with the CRA's, and also since you state the insurance paid already, it may be good to send the CA a DV with a C&D

I would also get in touch with your insurance and get the EOB showing it was paid prior to collections and go after the OC for it.

Hi!

Is there a way that I should word my disputes (as in a letter from samples) or should I just explain the situation as I did here? Thanks!
