Hello Folks, I have 3 paid off collections to NCO. One is four years old, the other two are two years old. They're still on my reports and I want them gone. I wrote two letters to them today and will mail them tomorrow (CMRRR). The first letter deals only with the oldest collection, the other letter handles the other two. Please tell me your thoughts on the liklihood of NCO totally removing the collections from my credit reports based on my explanation and kissing their A** a bit.

Letter 1
I am writing to ask that you remove the following Collection Account from my credit reports at the Experian and TransUnion Credit Bureaus.

Collection Agency: NCO/INOVISION-MEDCLR
Original Creditor: PP L INC
Account Number: My Acct #
Date Assigned: July 2001
Amount: 140.00

This account was paid in full by me on November 10, 2003 by my payment to “Gold Key Credit, Inc” of Key West, Florida. Please reference the attached Pay Off letter from Gold Key Credit as appropriate proof.

It was never my intention to allow the PP&L Electric bill to go unpaid. The original bill represented the final electric bill for my apartment and it never reached me due to my company relocating me to North Carolina about the time the bill was sent by PP&L. The mail simply not get to me during the relocation process as during it, the my employer first put me up at a local hotel for about 6 weeks until I could find a permanent place to live. As soon as I became aware of the bill in late October 2003, I paid it in full.

The 4 year old NCO Collection Account on my credit reports is negatively affecting my credit standing. Since the debt was promptly satisfied in its entirety by me upon learning of it, given that the amount is very small and the nature of how the debt was incurred, I humbly ask for your consideration and request that the Collection Account from your company be totally removed from my Experian and TransUnion credit reports.

Thank you for your help in this matter. Please respond as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Me

Letter 2
I am writing to ask that you totally remove the following 2 Collection Accounts from my credit report at the Equifax Credit Bureau.

ITEM 1
Collection Agency: NCOINOMED 496YC03413
Original Creditor: NCO Mecklenburg
Account Number: My Acct #
Date Assigned: June 2003
Date Reported: October 2003
Amount: $104.00

ITEM 2
Collection Agency: NCOINOMED 496YC03413
Original Creditor: NCO Mecklenburg
Account Number: My Acct #
Date Assigned: June 2003
Date Reported: October 2003
Amount: $311.00

Both of these accounts were paid in full by me on November 10, 2003 by my payment to NCO Financial System, Inc. Please reference the attached photocopied cancelled check numbered: 1101 in the amount of $414.73 as appropriate proof of this fact.

The original bills represented unpaid medical insurance claims that I was not aware were unpaid by the insurance company. It was never my intention to allow the two medical bills to go unpaid, I was simply unaware of them. As soon as I learned of the collection account in early November 2003, I immediately paid it in full as demonstrated by the attached photocopied cancelled check numbered 1101.

These NCO Collection Accounts on my credit report are negatively affecting my credit standing. Since the debt was promptly satisfied in its entirety and given that the amount is very small, I humbly ask for your consideration and request that these 2 Collection Accounts from your company be totally removed from my Equifax credit report.

Thank you for your help in this matter. Please respond as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Me

In my opinion asking a CA to delete is like asking FEMA to do it's job properly.

Send the CRA's the medical dispute letter. It is posted on my website in the HIPAA letter link.

Thank you for the help. I'll use the Medical Dispute letter, in fact, it is already prepared for mailing.

Got my first NCO Collection Account Deletion today. Here's how:

Though it's only been 19 days since I wrote NCO, about a week a go, I wrote a goodwill letter to the folks at PP&L asking for their help in getting the Paid Collection off of my rpts.

I do not know which letter motivated NCO to delete the collection account. I may never know. But for now, I can cheerfully report that 1 of the 3 Collections are now gone from all 3 rpts.

Though less meaningful than FICO, the FAKOS at TU and Eq are up 20 points; Ex FAKO is unchanged.

Anyway, jsut wanted to update the CB peeps.
