So I am wondering if there is a good way to deal with this situation. I am about to start at the local community college in their LPN to RN bridge courses. I will have to cut my hours down to attend school but I need the hours to pay my bills!! My hospital is agreeing to pay my tuition..but I am currently working 4 12hr. shifts..IE 48hrs a week. And I need that salary unfortionately.

Anyone have any suggestions? Can I still apply for a loan that will make up for the differance in pay if I have to go part time?

Have you completed a FAFSA application yet? Is the course at least half time or better?? If so there are loans that you can get.

If you have completed a FAFSA for fall, also ask your school to do a transcript evaluation for your LPN work. This may make you a jr or sr and enable you to borrow up to $10500 per yr if you are considered independent.

Nursing is a hot field again but I can understand your concern. That's a LOT of hours to work if you are going even part time.
