As I watch the tragic events of 911, my thoughts and prayers are with the families and loved ones that were lost. HOW CAN WE EVER FORGET THAT DAY? It angers me that people still question the war on terror, that people complain about the delays at airports and some complain of the intrusions in our lives. Many complain of racial profiling, that grandmas and others are being searched at airports. Timothy McVeigh was the average looking american, and look at what he did? Our lives and country will never be the same again, yes we have lost so much of our freedom but we must accept it. Our lives will NEVER be the same again.

God bless our men and women fighting for our freedom and their families.

God bless all of you that give your time in this forum to help one another with daily problems in our lives, on this day my problems seem so miniscule in comparison to what happened on 911. today my FICO does not seem so important. Tomorrow, because life does go on, I will put on my boxing gloves. BUT I WILL NEVER FORGET.

Today, I thank God that I, my family, loved ones are alive and healthy, and also that I have found some wonderful new friends in this creditboard forum.

THE WAR ON TERROR MUST NEVER STOP! THANK GOD FOR OUR PERSISTANT LEADER! THIS MUST NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.!

I totally agree......I have a 20 year old niece in Iraq and it chaps my @## everytime I hear someone say something negative about our troops, the war on terror, Pres.Bush or anything having to do with the war on terror.

That little girl is over there protecting your butts and the least she and all our troops deserve is respect......I for one am as Proud as any person can be of what this country stands for and like you I WILL NEVER FORGET !!!!

I will keep your neice in my thoughts and prayers. It just breaks my heart when I see all these young people in uniform. We have a 32 year old son, and I can't even imagine what I would do if he was in uniform. Then I see all the salamanders protesting. Protesting a war to protect our freedom, giving them the right to protest. Everyone has the right to their opiniions but do they really have a clue or just to much time on their hands?

I too am a very proud American! My parents were both born in Mexico, 2 years of grammer school. Came to California LEGALLy, they were so proud to be Americans. I will never forget how proud they were when they became citizens about 50 years ago. We had our culture at home, but by God, I always remember my dad telling us " We are Americans and will live as such". I get so angry, hispanics come to our country for a "better life" yet they want us to change our country to conform to them and what they just left. Ay Ay Ay

PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!!!!!

Angela,

That's one more thing we have in common....I am actually a Canadian citizen...born in Athabasca Alberta, Canadian dad, American mom, Dad died when I was 8 as the result of serving in the US Navy in Korea. I had a dual citizenship until the early 80's when the immigration laws were changed and did away with that.......I've lived in this Country for 40 years and feel like I'm just as much an American as anyone else !!!!

angela i wonder if you meant to hit the mortgage forum with this hmm.

anyway to my comment.

Why does it anger you that people complain about waiting in airport security lines ?

also

Why do you get angry that some complain of intrusions in thier lives ?

i was a flag waver before it was cool, i also am pro destroy any possible threat before it becomes a threat. I am this way because i want our way of life to continue i want us sitting in fat city till well after my days are gone. Where i draw the line is when the government takes my freedoms becasue we got attacked. And it angers me that thye chip away at our rights little by little. I would think that you with a family member in Iraq would agree with me. That means you niece is fighting for a country that becomes less and less free by the day instead of one that becomes more and more free.

I sometimes think of the formula Respect + responsibility = rights. This formula does have a flaw in this situation. someone else showed no respect and no responsibility and all americans lost rights. I don't want to die but if this trend continues i forsee a time when i will have to trade my life for my freedoms and yours. i don't want a revolution but we are not free anymore, i have known this for some time but was okay with it to a degree. But now they are even taking our illusion of freedom away and i don't think we will be concidered free much longer.

Osama bin laden or whoever ordered those attacks didn't win becasue they knocked down the buildings and killed those people, they won becasue we lost part of our way of life. That was the ultimate goal of terrorists. Do you honestly think that when a palestinine suicide bomber kills 2 jews that that was his ultimat goal ? Hell no it was to get on the news and to strike fear, to see thier way of life ruined as much as possible.

Give the terriorts the ultimate punishment give us our rights back, befoe we live in a country here they teach about old america when we were free.

Hideous, sorry I did not mean to hit mortgage forum.

I respect your opinions and comments.

In answer to your questions:

1. Since 911 it angers me because, like it or not our lives have changed. Security has to be tight and if it means longer times at airports so be it. I want to be sure I am not going to die. Before 911 I also would get angry at waiting lines. But I have had to change my way of thinking.

2. I am the most conservative person in the world and I despise govenment intrusion in our lives, but 911 has changed all that. My God, the terrorists were in flight schools, they had drivers licenses etc.

Everything else you stated I agree with 100%. We want our freedom and lives back to the way they were before 911. I want the governmemt out of my life. But with terrorists, and knowing more of their operations. Can we relax and live the old america when we were free. I hope so.

You are correct in your statement of why terrorists attack. More importantly they are attacking our freedom. That is what they hate the most.

Why should we have to fear flying? Being safe in our own country? I am mostly angry about that.

Much of this I think is the breakdown of our intelligence in the last 10 years.

Yes, give us our rights back. But since 911 ,I think to get there we will have to make some sacrifices. How do we deal with the 1,000 of terrorists cells in US alone?

BREAKING NEWS......

80 Foreign Fighters were just captured in Iraq. Many believe they are behind the attacks on our troops.

LETS GET THEM ALL !!!

well i guess we are on the sme page its jsut when i first read it i thought you were one of those that just doesn't care about rights. that doesn't see the big picture.

I have never really felt safe which is why i suppose i am the way i am, that being a very anxious person, to the point of disability, but i still do not believe in taking more rights away i don't want the NSA taping my phone calls either.

If you rread any of my other posts you will see that i adress the lack of borders here. i normally atack it in a tax perspective but it fits here too. If the mixicans can go back and forth across the border on a daily basis that so can a terrorist that flys into mexico. So matter if your in a 3 hour line orr not at the airport osama bin laden could be walking across the mexican border right now. he doesn't need to fly right into the usa he can go to comulbia to mexico to here for example. I think that most of whats changed is more for show.

i had not flown in 25 years i flew for the first time right after 9/11 to arizona to see my moms house and visit. our tickets were bought threw my moms gold card program with the airline so we went through a special line and they but our bags in the x ray and that was it asked me to empty pockets but didn't pat me down didn't take our shows or anything. i saw about 25 TSA workers and we were the only ones in line. They when i emptied my pockets i said " do i have to put my drugs in the basket too" the guy said no. this is before i even showed him i meant a perscription drug bottle or anxiety meds. then i show him anyways cause i already was reachuing to show him. i pulled them our and becasue i carry them all day every day waiting for my next panic attack the label is so worn you can't see my name he didn't even care or open it after i refered to it as drugs.

its an illusion

i know it will do some good but its like a half band aid if its still open o an infection it will still get one. I am afraid to fly becasue i don't liek to bounce up and down for 2 hours. i don't think a terrioirt wants to hijack a plane from seattle to phoenix, i suppose i could be wrongg though.

either way i wont die hitting the ground as ill rush the bastards straight away.

so i guess what i am triing to say is if i really felt that all this crap was doing somethign other then taking rights i might be on board bu for now its a joke.

thanks to california a terrrioirt can no get a drivers lisence.

i thingk the largest risk to national security is california.

Hideous,

Oh boy are we on the same wave length. You are right again! California and other bordering states are the problem. Our lax border control. I am hispanic, we have thousands of women that come across the border to have babies in San Diego and newborns become citizens and back to Mexico they go they grow up come to California as a citizen and bring the whole family over and on and on and on.

We need to put our National Guard at the borders. I don't begrudge anyone wanting to come here, but do it right and legally.like so many have.

Can you believe that someone here illegally can get a drivers license??? THEY HAVE BROKEN THE LAW and we are rewarding them with a license. Proponets say we can keep better track. DUH, the terrorists had a license.

Yup, California is a whacko state!!! I agreee, curb our borders, enforce existing laws, and never mind racial profiling.

4 years ago I was a representatiave to DC with an organization called FAIR (Free Americans for Imigration Reform) We met with Senators and Congressman. They were in awe that in my group, 2 African Americans, an Asian and me, hispanic, were there fighting for immigration reform. In view of our ethnic background how could we feel this way? They did not have a clue of our border problems.

Its all about getting votes.

Thank you, have been enjoying our chat, I like discussions with people with definite views and who know their stuff.

Posted

me to angela, i must say everytime i mention borders even when i don't say mexican or hispanic.

most people respond with why don't you like mexicans or that they are ashamed to be a conservative so i was a little hesitant.

i don't begrugde anyone for wanting to come here either, if it was me i would do the same.

what i have a problem with is the reasons why its done, well okay its a little fact mixed with a little theory.

Its my belief that because of the whacky way the government funds programs we basically have a giant pyramid cheme going on especially with social security. for every person on social security right now there are 5 workers that pay into it and basically it funnels through to the social security uses today. within i think its in 10 years it will fall to 3 people supporting each person on social security, it wont work. I think that the EIC and other programs were started with the hope that we would start to breed and we didn't. i think this is the governments way of dealing with their pyramid scheme.

i know i could be off base or maybe its only part of it but it makes sence. we can't very well stay the number 1 super power with 300 million people when there are 3 countrys out there at around 1 billion people. all of them have nukes too china india and pakistan. that more people to fight, more people to make discoverys, more people to make a human land bridge and jsut take us over. i seriously wonder if we even have enough bullets to fight china.

anyways i know this arguements not as strong as my others but i am tired.

And my theory is always this:

If ya don't lik eit...change it! I don't like what is going on in my town as far as expansion so you knwo what I did? While all the in laws were belly aching about politics i went down and paid 24 bucks and signed up for the Allyn Community Association........now instead of belly aching in front of people that just belly ache back, I complain and make a difference. Nothing says that people cant turn the complaining into action....real action.......and become pro active.

8) In my life I plan on becoming even more involved and taking a role in politics...not for the glory or the money or the stuff that comes with it.....but because I don't want to complain about something unless someone is force to listen to me and I can make a change. Love ya Hideous!

Posted

Hideous, you are the kind of person I want on my side. Will is right, I got involved in my community and politics years ago simply because I could not sit back and complain . I had to try in some way to change things. Politicians will only listen to the masses. When we fought to have MTB out of our gasoline, it took work and time, but we got alot accomplished. Lots of marches at the State Capitol in Sac. It has its rewards too. Being on the Bush team in Calif. got me a trip to inauguration, what an awsome experience. Tonight I received a call from one of Arnold Sch campaign people, want me to spearhead hispanic committee. Not my first choice but he'll be ok.

RECALL MUST PASS or we are dead ducks in CA.

I am tired too. My brain is taxed, no pun intended.

i agree, but this little anxiety issue keeps me from it. its been my dream ever since i was about 8 or so to be in politics. i do vote but thats all for now. i undestand action over talk. i really feel its all i can do right now, i tried to get my wife to run for city council i can do campaigning for her spin etc. i understand for the most part how people think, but she has zero desire to be in that world. she was one of those that couldn't even name the president till i got with her. now i quiz her on world leaders when we go out to breakfast etcc. now do i sound lame or what. "if you can't tell me who tony blair is no desert for you" ;-)

angela what i think california needs is to file bankruptcy.

first it needs to stop all the givaways to illegals period then it needs to scale back the ones to citizens, till it gets things going in the right direction. kinda like a consumer would when they realize how much trouble they are in.

when i filed bk7 in 1998 i swore i would forever pay all my bills on time, and i had a budget etc going. lost a job it fell apart and evnded up with a medical judgement and a bad cap 1 cards. but the lesson is still there just need to keep a bigger savings to make sure job loss doesn't kill me again.

i think california needs to do the same, start a savings account that can run the governemnt for 2 years, and get a budget going thats workable.

there may be another way but i don't feel its the average californias fault this happened, and they are goingto have to pay for it for a long time. now if california bk's then the whole nation will share the burden of paying for it but i think its what needs to be done.

i think its odd that 48 states have laws requiring a balanced budget, yet vermont that does not balanced the budget, you have to give howard dean props for that. anyways my main point here is wahts the penalty if the governors can't or won't pass abalanced budget ? or the legislatures and their roll in all this spending ? do they lose their jobs ? no its bull. our governor up here flat out said i can't do what the people want so i won't. these are voter approved initiatives with still fresh ink from a year ago and he won't abide by them, atleast last i heard. and then they cut programs that make headlines like department of corrections and claim prisoners will be unguarded. he lowers funding of the states disability, of coarse education etc. why didn't he cut back on the 1 million dollar remodel to his jet ? why didn't he take away the legislatures eating allowance ? these things don't pull at our strings makes me so mad i swear alot of people in politics want us to live in communism.

okay i am really ranting now and bablling i am so very tired i need to go to sleep.

one last thing back to dean you know i admit i don't know too much about him and i can't say i like his stance that he is boasting lately about how he was against the war in Iraq as it should have been dealt with 10 years before by clinton. anyways he did balance the budget. and a shot out to Rep. Dennis Kucinich for actually showing up and voting.

and we pay these people and call them leaders, hell i vote more then them

Hey Hideous, you should be living in Calif. I would vote for you as a write-in candidate. You hit the nail on the head with all your comments.

Illegal aliens are registered to vote when they apply for drivers license. People are voting that don't have a clue about issues or the candidates. The only thing they know is that the candidate has promised them the moon, at taxpayers expense. Social programs, social programs, social programs. You would be surprised that most people don't even know the name of the VP. That is why Gray-out Davis recently signed the bill to give illegals a drivers license. He vetoed it the last time. But he needs the votes now. I am always amused by the polls. They make sure that they poll at certain times of the day. Because people living off the system are at home and of course what do you think their answers are going to be?

This is probably going to not go over with some people. Let me explain, our welfare system was set up to help people, loss of income, medical needs, single moms, etc. BUT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TEMPORARY not a lifetime benefit. I am for helping people in a time of need, help them get back on their feet. But people know how to work the system.

I worked in medical offices years ago. Patients that came in on welfare, had kids, those kids were on welfare as adults, their kids grew up, yup you guessed it on welfare. Vicious cycle. I had to go back to work when my son was only 4 months old. People I knew were on welfare were getting their hair done, home watching soaps, going on vacation. Sore subject with me. My parents, 9 kids, no education never took a dime from the government.

Before elections, people set up at WalMart, Kmart, etc. They get paid to register people to vote. Our kids graduate HS and can't read, have not learned much, turn 18 and vote. Of course on the other side of the coin, some are defending our country.

One of the big problems is that politicians are not made accountable, If you or I don't take care of our obligations. primarily due to something unforseen in our lives, we have to file BK, if the politicians screw up, oh well.

That is why this recall is so important. This man must be held accountable for his actions. Maybe the other politicians will get a clue, they can be fired by the people too.

You should run for public office in your community. You make alot of sense.

HIDEOUS FOR GOVENOR OF CALIFORNIA !!!!!
