moreCowbell.gifVERIZON WIRELESS DELETED MY CHARGE-OFF FROM ALL THREE CRA'S!!!moreCowbell.gif

I "not mined" the crap outta the CRA's cause they never did report the PAID CO correctly. They first were showing balances, then they changed the DOLA (illegal i think), then reported as a collection account. I was getting a bit miffed.

I followed NURSEYPOO's lead and did a Planetfeed back letter, to verizon hoping for some of her luck. tHE TITLE OF THE LETTER IS "BROKEN PROMISE" Here it is straight from planet feedback with their stuff added in:

To: Verizon Wireless

The world thrives on communication today, which is why I'm so upset with the billing or payment at Verizon Wireless. Quite honestly, I'm annoyed with this issue. Just for the record, here's my home telephone information: 808-xxx-xxxx but can only be contacted by the means listed at the end of this letter as i am currently in iraq.

Here's my complaint: I am writing to you guys in reguards to a Broken promise made to me by a customer service representative with your collection accounts. The customer service representative was very nice and helpful, i only wish i had taen her name and extension down. But basicly what happened was that i reviewed my credit report as i am currently in Iraq and plan on buying a house when i return and saw that verizon wireless had a charge off on my account in the amount of $1286. I realized this was for a phone that i had lost and never paid the contract off or got a new phone. While i never recieved any notices because this was about the same time that i left the army and Schofield barracks i knew what it was for and i believe that if i owe the money i should pay. Around that time when it became a Charge off i was having major financial troubles as i was no longer in the military and had a great job working for the state of hawaii, but making half as much money as i did in the military. There were many bills past due at the time but i did not recall/know about this one. I eventually re-joined the military in Oct 2004 and got my financial situation under control.

In March 2005 i saw your entry on my credit report and remembered the situation that caused the Charge off. I immediatly called verizon wireless and spoke to someone in the collections department who was Very helpful. She explained the bill to me and asked would i like to set up a re-payment plan. I told her that i would be willing to pay ALL of the debt owed to Verizon if this tradeline would be removed from my credit report, she explained that once the debt is paid in full, verizon would remove the tradeline. I was very happy with this as it also meant that i could return as a verizon wireless customer when i returned from Iraq.

I then set up a payment program of 2 payments one for $886 which I pay'ed right then on the phone (about the beginning of April) and the next payment of $400 set for the 15th of April. I payed both payments as promised to bring this account to Paid in Full. The second Customer service representative i spoke to on the 15th of april thanked me for my final payment and said that the tradeline would be removed from all 3 credit bureau's but that they only report to the credit bureau's once a month so give it some time. She also stated "thank you again Mr. xxxx and welcome back to Verizon Wireless" this was my second concern as i didnt think the Charge off notation was going to be a problem as i was promised by 2 different customer service representatives that it would be removed. I was more concerned with getting a new verizon account when i returned from Iraq.

Now 2 months later the Charge off is still listed on my credit reports, and worse it is reporting WRONG wich is against the FACTA/FCRA, a federal law that protects consumers from wrong information reported to Credit reporting agencies. Even worse i disputed this wrong information through all 3 credit bureaus and all 3 verified that this information is correct. This is a violation of that federal law and results in hefty fines for those that report the wrong information.

I am not out to recieve any money from Verizon wireless due to these laws being broken, all i want is the Charge off removed from my credit reports as was promised so that i can get the best rates on a house when i return, and keep our good relationship so that i may continue to be a customer with verizon wireless.

Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Despite this problem, I'll probably continue using your company for wireless service. I do want you to know that I'll probably continue to recommend you to my friends.

Here's what I'd like to see happen:

1) Remove/delete the Verizon Charge off Tradeline from all 3 Credit reporting agencies (Equifax,Experian, and Transunion)

2) remain a customer in good standing to recieve a phone when i return to Hawaii from all this mayhem in IRAQ

I hope you get back to me soon. In this age of modern communication, seemingly simple things should not go unresolved. I'll expect a response within 10 business days.

I am sooooo jealous, they are so persitent, I just got through sending them my third letter to them about hour ago. I am going to try PFB!!!

I got my Verizon CO's deleted using PFB as well..very fast response. I suggest anyone with a Verizon issue try PFB. Mine was a paid collection (before CB) and they were reporting it incorrectly somehow, I dont even remember now...all I know is its GONE!!!

Congrats to your deletion as well.

Just like all of us, Lupoman puts his pants on one leg at a time. But when they're on, he makes negative Verizon entries go away!

Rock on, man - that's so cool! :blush2:

Make sure you mention about those letters and getting nowhere. I jus played dumb, but not too dumb, firm, but not demanding. I think that was the advise that breeze gave!

I wonder if putting i may recomend to others helped any?

I, too, used PFB for Verizon CO, and after speaking with one of their "higher-ups", the negative TL was DELETED in less than 2 business days. PFB WORKS! Try it! You'll like IT! <_<

I too had a Verizon Wireless CO deleted using PFB. Their response was unbelievable quick. I HIGHLY recommend PFB for these guys.

Congratulations. I also used PFB to remove Verizon and it worked. I think the key to crack them is to find an error on there part and emphasize how the error has caused you problems. If they only feel you only want a favor, they won't budge.

If you can remember, what errors in your report did you have?

Congrats on your CO deletion. How can you get hold of one of the higher-ups?

What errors did you point them to?

Are these all Verizon Wireless COs not Verizon (the local telco)?

My CO was Verizon Wireless. I didn't REALLY have any errors it was a straight forward PFD. However, i did convince them to remove the early termination fee which was about $175 per line. I had 2 lines. They sent me a deletion letter and the tradeline was gone in about 3 days after i got the letter. Too bad their service is too expensive and not great in my area or else i would have stayed with them.

I didn't use PFD, I used PFB. In my situation the bill was from 1999 and I asked for a bill, they could not produce a bill, I was told it could take over 6 weeks to produce a bill. I then used PFB and explained how they had made an error and placed this our my report and they could not even produce a bill for me to know that I owed it. I got a phone call from Executive Relations the next day saying it would be removed and I asked a letter be sent to me stating the same.
