If something happens, I hope they get sued into oblivion. That is inviting danger in so many ways.

 

On the other hand... I wonder if permits issued in other states appear. If not, I would suggest anyone that doesn't have a permit already to get theirs in SC, VA, FL, etc. They will issue to non-residents and the permits are widely accepted in other states, especially Florida's.

I'd forgotten about that too... guess who: Arizona (big surprise ), Alaska, Vermont, Wyoming, and Montana (outside city limits... isn't that the entire state? )

Virginia allows open carry without a license, but concealed requires a license. However, if you go downtown wearing your gun, you are likely to get arrested, because half the people, police included, don't know that it's legal.

I've often wondered if I would prefer open carry vs concealed carry. Open carry may deter "events" in the first place, but you lose the element of surprise.
