Chase Checking

Just FYI about Chase - I opened an account online. I didn't really need it, I already have checking accounts at 3 other banks, but I thought hey why not diversify - anyway, I opened an account online, made a deposit with my debit card, all seemed good, I could view my account online. I received a debit card in the mail, but when I tried to call the number on the sticker on the debit card, I was transferred to the Fraud Department. Apparently a bank I had a problem with years ago showed up on the Early Warning System (EWS). I am sure this is not a revelation, but I Just thought I would share my experience.

Oh yeah, sorry for forgetting the rest. So they told me to contact EWS to get a letter that everything was all cleared up, so they could activate the debit card. In the mean time, they closed the account immediately. I assume they will return the initial deposit to me. So yes, it was easy to open an account, but it was closed quickly...

Sadly it happens all the time with banks that use EWS
