collection agencies

hi i just got letter from a collection agency that just appeared on my credit report. they are aktiv kapital has any one dealt with them. the original creditor they listed on my CR is different from the oc on the letter the amount is different. and the original account appears to be different from the original account on my CR that is l isted as co no amount so i know it has been sold the debt is almost 3y old. Any information on how to deal with this would bring you all hugs and kisses thanks
