ES1 got ITA for PSECU Visa 9% APR.

Not a pre-approval, but she's only been a member for a couple of weeks.

This makes me suspect that PSECU is trying to drum up CC business.

What happened to that Platinum Rewards card?

Oh, that's ES2's Rewards Visa, $1k limit.

I've been using it to hit $1k for the 20,000 point bonus.

I was worried a $160 charge was going to put him over-limit, but it looks like it was just declined.

 Look at what you did! You better hope he doesn't have internet access in SK.

He has to go to a luxury hotel to mooch off the wi-fi.

I think I'm safe for now. :P

It's got $1 available and $19 balance.

PenFed has not adjusted Available Credit for ANY of the 5 payments I've made since 5/3.

The $1.00 test payment I sent on 5/2 looks like it is reflecting now.

Since, I spent EXACTLY $1,000.00.

So... inquiring minds want to know, what did you buy?

I had to spend $100 on Walmart.com for the wife to get $20 cash back when we opened her account the other day. That was a lot of Subway gift cards. :P

So, PSECU's FICO is definitely NOT FICO 08, since being an AU bumps up ES1's score by 65 points compared to Wally's TU FICO 08

DCU Equifax 04 = 753

PSECU Experian 04 = 761

Walmart TU 08 = 696

Why all the posts about PenFed that aren't on topic? I thought Point of Master threads is to keep everything on the same topic.

The point of the screenshots is that PenFed takes about 9 days to credit payments to available credit.

So, it is very easy to go over-limit, show >100% utlilization, or high utilization with a PenFed card.

IOW, be VERY careful how one uses PenFed CCs near their credit limits.

e.g. Here are ES2's PenFed Visa payments.

The 5/7 transfer from PenFed Checking to Visa still has not been credited to available credit.

4/29 Alliant Paper Check $1

5/3 PenFed Checking $446.47

5/7 PenFed Checking $251.36

And the $160 charge I was worried about, putting ES2 over-limit, was rejected.

Even though, at the time I scheduled the payment, there was only a $145 balance on a $1k Visa.

I had this situation when my PenFed card was new. When it reached 6 months of age the available credit began updating within a day or two of payment.

Oh, good to know that.

Must be like the $50 limit on ACH transfers for new members.

Oh, I see now. Gotcha.

I can't remember the big parts of the '04 and '08 versions of FICO, but is there a different reason other than the more inquiries that might be creating such a rift in my DCU FICO (EQ, '04) and my Walmart FICO (TU, '08) that could be based on the scoring models?

I don't have any negative accounts, all reports essentially show the same info, so consider all things equal except the inquires and scoring models.
