As of this morning down 23.5 lbs. 11.5 more to go to reach goal.. My jeans are falling off, and my big stuff is too big. Oh and my Plantar Faciitis (sp) is doing much better.

But, I am having terrible problems with my BM's...

And now I am in the quandry of having to buy a swimsuit for vacation. I guess I will get what fits now.

I am running my first 5k on Saturday. :yahoo: Any tips?

No tips here, wishing you the best of luck with it! That is awesome. The runners will come along shortly to give ya some good advice. ;)

Hooray!! :yahoo:

Only advice for a first race is to go to the bathroom before the race, start slower than you think you need to, and try to enjoy yourself. If you get to mile 2, and feel good, start picking people off, slow and steady. ;)

And welcome to the dark side

how did it go?

Not great. lol. I DID finish, so in the grand scheme of things, that is what matters to me. Ok, well, maybe. I have this problem with trying to do it all all of the time and to do it great. Lol.

I wore the wrong shoes and realized it the minute I got halfway through my first mile. My first mile was 13 mins. The other 2 were 16 mins. :sorry: The toes on my right foot started going numb and feeling really funky by my 2nd mile. Then all of a sudden my right arm broke out in goosebumps and got bright red and stuff. It was CRAZY. I think I had kept my upper body too tight during my first mile and I caused a pinch nerve or something. By the time I got done and sat down with my water and Mich Ultra, my arm and foot started going back to normal. Hubs thinks I was too dehydrated?

Anyhoo, I am going to do another one at the end of September. I'd like to that the Giraffe and her sidekicks for starting this movement. AND I HAVE STARTED C25k. I ran that thing with NO program at all in place as far as running goes. lol.

Anyone have any ideas on the Green Coffee Bean Extracts? Dr. Oz is promoting them now.

Starbucks makes an energy drink from the green coffee beans.  They have a carbonated version and a version the barista makes. The flavor is more like tea than coffee.

I got a bottle of them from my naturals store here. I don't know if they are really work or it is a psychosomatic thing, but, I am down more pounds. A total of 45.5 for 2012. Started in March, as a vacation goal. Basically portion control, a little bit of exercise thrown in, and all my supplements.

With more of the extra weight gone, the PF is all but gone. However I still have more work to do. UGH. I went in for a physical, and

bummer deal but I have high cholesterol. And borderline diabetes. And hypothyroidism. Doc said, she is going to re check in 3 months, I refuse to go on meds for the cholesterol. I will take meds for the thyroid, and I will cut the sugars more.

In 2013 I will continue with a healthy diet, I have about 17 more lbs to get to my ultimate goal. I will add in heavier exercise several days a week, plus some weights which I have started again.

DH bought me cute new yoga pants and top to motivate me. Ha. Joker.

Anyway thats all the update I have, how about you all? Come on, I want all the details? I finally got my lappy back so I am back in action :swoon:

wow. just, WOW! congrats! slow and steady leads to success!

Thank you!

It is slow and steady that's for sure. It surely crept up on me the last five years and after having DD. You don't even realize it and wham, your up three or four sizes, and the heaviest girl in your family, and people are making comments. Hard for me to choke down and deal with, plus I don't like tight or uncomfortable clothes.

So I tried for 1-2 lbs a week, I weigh about twice a week, and not during that time of the month, hahaa. Now that hard part comes, keeping it off.

WTG, Brazen!!! :yahoo:

I have held steady on the 30-ish lbs I lost in 2011. I dealt with a lot of personal stuff the second half of 2011 and first part of 2012 that killed a lot of my motivation, but I'm still routinely surprised and gratified when I try on new pants and they're too big. :D Looking forward to a big push downward in 2013...about 20 lbs will put me FIRMLY out if the Plus category, a milestone for which I might hire a marching band.

I am going to run a 5k this year if it kills me. I have already started looking in my area to see when some are. I see afew for April. I think I just need to suck it up and sign up for it so I go.

I did my first 5k in August. I am down a total of 36# and 2-3 sizes. I should add up the inches, but I haven't. I do know that since last July I dropped 3 cup sizes and about 5 inches around the band area. :clapping:

I am doing another 5k Sunday if I can breathe again by then. I have a feeling I am getting bronchitis. :(

Goals for 2013:

Drop another 40#, run 3 5ks, drop another 2 cups, and not sure what else right now. Trainer wants me to get involved with lifting comps but I am not there yet. I have just started keeping track on MFP this week (good and bad) but at least I am being honest! WW did not work too well for me. MFP seems doable.

Congrats to everyone for meeting goals or doing things that they normally wouldn't do! That's fantastic!!
