okay...I know there are a lot of fads out there, but what supplements are people taking? I take a multivitamin and 10,000 Vit D3 owing to a very low Vit D value in my recent blood work.

talk to me.

green coffee extract?

raspberry keotones?

termite mound powder?

(I made the last one up)

LOL.

I am taking a multi vit, I get a B12 plus shot every week, Coral Calcium plus D-3, and the Herbalife Cell Activator.

I am getting ready to add in an Omega Fish supplement, just not sure which one yet.

Have been drinking green tea like crazy.

That's pretty much it for now.

Cut out almost all sugars and white starches (I allow myself a Breyer's Low Carb Ice cream every now and then), and I cannot give up my Coffeemate French Vanilla in the AM, though in small amounts.

My quest is some for weight loss, but more for overall energy, and well being. Not in a huge rush, it will come with time.

do you think the B12 shots help?

Absolutely! I swear by them, for me anyway they have worked much better than the tablets.

The flowers cheek is sore after since they are IM, but I love them.

We have a local natural store here that gives them on Saturdays for like 15 bucks I think. I just pop into my doc's office and get one, the B Complex, with B-12 I think.

IMHO most supplements are fads.

A solid multivitamin (I use Life Force brand, awesome) will have almost everything you need although I take fish oil and vitamin D as well.

My health goal was to get rid of plantar fasciitis and I've succeeded. New goal is to get back into half-marathon shape since I lost so much fitness. I entered my name in the lottery for Houston's half in January. If I'm selected, I think I can make a honest go at my old PR.

wow. good luck on the half!

most multivitamins upset my stomach especially if I take it without a full meal. is Life Force better for something like that?

I have trouble with multi's too, it's just a matter of figuring out which one works for you. Or take with a full meal.

You're supposed to take multis with a full meal anyway. They don't make me nauseated but I can't say I've tried them with anything other than a meal (at least 400 calories.) Here's the ones I take: amazon link

That sounds awesome and frankly I'm a little jealous! I wish y'all the best.

If I don't get selected for Houston, I'm going to need to find something else to train for. Austin has the 3M half in January but I'm not sure if I can make the drive that weekend. Really hope the lottery picks me...

It's called reverse psychology... now you're going to NOT DIE just so you can prove me wrong :lol:

And good lord, I'm still light years away from beating your old new PR. It seems lately that the more I run the slower I get. WTH?

You're lucky I didn't die.

But I DID for real, out loud, say "I'd rather get hypothermia than run one more step." And then I did exactly that. Lame.

Hi All!

Its been a while since I posted (08) actually the last time I posted, I was headed towards a slew of health problems due to being overweight/obese. I weighed 335lbs at 5'7 & my wife weighed 250lbs. Although my credit improved after learning lots on this board, my health declined. So I had good credit but bad health. Well since then my wife and I lost over 200lbs combined & have maintained it for a little over 2 years now! What I learned is without your health, its tough to enjoy things like good credit etc. To help inspire everyday people like our selves we started a blog celebrating people like ourselves that improved their health & to encourage those that they can do it to.

The website is http://transformationpics.com My entry/w pics is here http://wp.me/p2rpQN-l & my wife's story/w pics is here http://wp.me/p2rpQN-p

If the site inspires atleast 1 person to better health then it's mission accomplished :)

My next battle is not health wise anymore, but to pay off some debt. Which in a way is like losing weight, slow and steady wins the race.

Okay someone here might know an answer.

I am having pain in my left foot on top betwween the ankle and before the toes start. It comes and goes and it really hurts when it hits and sometimes feels like a burning sensation with it.

I feel 4 weeks ago (fell on cement, was carrying a box and tripped over the step, banged up my knees pretty, scabs finally all gone last week) my foot hurt but I was walking normal within a few minutes, just the knees hurting.

It doesn't seem swollen (that I can tell)it looked like I had some bruising color but not totally sure.

Can't think of when it started.

Just very annoying.

Have you been resting it? If not, rest it.

If the pain doesn't go away with rest, you might need to look into an xray.

Hi hege!

I added Rasberry Ketones, and Apple Cider Vinegar to my regimen. I will let you know how it goes, they are supposed to help with energy and detoxifying.

anyone do cross fit?! I've been at an actual box for about 2 months now. I'm down 16# and about 20".  Before having kids (so, 3 years ago) I was about 140. Gained 55# with dd1, lost some between her and dd2, then was about 180 afterwards. Breastfeeding didn't help me lose weight at all; in fact the opposite happened. I clung to everything in my body for a whole year. DH's in the Marine Corps so he's been doing CF for about 3 years now. Anyways, I also do Turbofire with my mom and that's really jump started my cardio activity ;) I'd love to lose at least 30 more lbs, but we shall see!

I don't know if anyone around recently does CF - I know Saturn has talked about it, but she hasn't been around for awhile. Maybe she'll pop in.
