i haven't figured out how to access the backdoor on CSC credit, but last week i had an old hard inq show back up.

I was showing 3 inqs (1 in sept 09 and 2 in march '10) but now am showing 4 - the new one is Jan 09.

Does that mean i probably got chopped? Once i got chopped, will i get it every month?

If an old inquiry re-appeared, we call that a re-insertion.

It is possible to get off the list if you behave.

Thanks Bob. Just to clarify - does a reinsertion mean i likely got chopped?

The two are almost mutually exclusive because

1) Re-insertions usually occur on TransUnion reports

2) Choppage only occurs on Equifax reports (except for cb_opus)

Having a re-insertion says nothing about whether you were chopped.

Keep pulling on Equifax, if after 85 pulls, bumpable inquries are still there, you've been chopped.

I will keep pulling and should hit 86 in the next week or so. I will report back.

My reinsertion was definitely on EQ. One other factor that may have played a part - i am using a new PO Box/mailing service based in Houston, so instead of being able to directly login to EQ, i am redirected to CSC Credit Services. (https://www.csccredit.com) which is apparently the EQ reporting agency for texas.

The reinsertion definitely coincided with the new Houston address being reported as my current address on EQ. Is there any evidence to suggest that b* works differently for the 15 states that are managed by CSC?

Nope, B* seems to work fine for the members here who are serviced by CSC.

Hi Mr. Wang

Sorry to bother you again, but I have a quick question.

Since I got axed on April 8th, do I just continute to pull with mpm, cct, and cs, everyday? Is this the normal course of action or do I need to do something different?

Historically I have experienced C* on the above dates since signing up for Credit Watch last summer.

Last week I was out of town, and could not access USAA's daily puller on my IPhone, and after reading that C* happened around 3/20 I did not bother to go to an Internet Cafe and pull my USAA pulls daily. I was able to continue to pull MPM daily via the IPhone, so I pulled my file most days. Yesterday I was going to cancel MPM because I figured B* on EQ is over for me.

Yesterday morning I pulled my reports via USAA, and much later in the afternoon I pulled MPM, (time differences in east coast this week, west coast last week). I had a b* on Equifax. I waited to pull USAA reports again this morning, and I really did experience B* on Equifax yesterday.

I have never used the EQ backdoor (only because I have never been able to get in), but did order a report on 3/15 via the telephone. I don't know why I was not C*ed last week when everyone else was, but there is hope that you can come off EQ"s C* list! At least for a few days.

I should experience B* again in 10 days. I'll update after I know.

Congrats, mliam!

Good to know that there is hope of getting off the Chop List. :)

Bob! I experienced B* on EQ this morning, just as predicted. I don't know what I did to avoid the "C" block this last round, but somehow I was missed last time. I am absolutely shocked. I have been traveling for most of the past month and my pulls are not as well timed as they were when I was at home, and I am going through a horrible breakup, (found out he was cheating with several women) so my mind is not really on B* or credit repair. I REALLY needed this good news this morning.

I have one inquiry on EQ, and at the current rate I should experience B* on EQ again in 8 days. I'll update after the 8th day.

Everyone, there is hope, keep pulling even if you think everyone else was c*, because you may have been overlooked. B* is still happening with only 2 daily pullers.

Exactly on schedule.....my last inq on EQ was gone today when I pulled my report via USAA. I don't know what I did not get off EQ's C* block, but I have missed the last 2 C*'s according to the dates posted here.

Now, I am sort of wondering what will I do with all my future pulls? There is nothing left to B* on EQ or TU, guess this was my last stop on the B* Train. EX is frozen until they allow me to know my EX FICO score.

Spreadsheet's gone, do we have a projected C* date for EQ in April?

I believe some were already chopped on the 9-10th of April. I have not checked the backdoor.

I wasn't a previous victim of TransUnion choppage or "reinsertion" (for lack of a better term, encoder)

Now that it appears to be a more widespread problem, I'm updating the spreadsheet to include TU data.

My strategy for future TU apps will be to get them done before April or July, in case bumped TU inquiries get resurrected.

Perhaps "resurrection" instead of "reinsertion"?

I might just be brain dead today , but Bob do you think it would still be a good strategy to use Credit Karma and USAA CCMP to b* TU inquries?

CreditKarma will give you a MAXIMUM of one inquiry per month. Feel free to use USAA CCMP, though, that'll work just fine .

Wouldn't it be better to do that right AFTER April (assuming that's when the resurrection occurs)? That way

they are more likely to "resurrect" a year later when they have no impact on scores?

You guys don't need me. ;)

Without you, I would know much, much less about B*.

Hard inquiries followed by daily pulls leads to MAGIC.

Of course we need you, Bob :P.

My wife signed up for two more services: USAA and MPM (via EIDT).

Science to reprove/disprove BobWang's sheet on which services are non-unique to EQ / TU ...

... my wife is pulling the following 7 services daily since 4/24/2010:

1) Credit Check Total (CCT),

2) Credit Secure (CS),

3) USAA,

4) My Privacy Maters (MPM),

5) National City Identity Protect (member since 2008 and can still pull daily)

6) TU Settlement and

Good point clutch.

Better strategy is to bump off the reinsertions as quickly as possible in May, July, then app spree.

;)

App sprees are fun to read about :P
