So my AU account finally reported with open date 4/2012 WTH! Did I miss something? I thought Amex AU account reported with the original open date whether the card showed a later member since or not.

Amex BCP showed up in the reports today for the first time. I have had the card for less than a month and my first statement cut on July 3rd. Date Opened shows 06/2004, so backdating success :grin: . Reported Since, Date of Status, Last Reported and Recent Balance all show 07/2012 though. Under payment history only July shows the green OK. I thought they insert OKs going back to the open date, so unsure if this is how it should look like.

Strangely my other Amex with $9k CL has not reported yet, even though it was first cut end of June. I was hoping both would report first time after 3x CLI because they are both my low limit card. :stop: But thank you for the AAOA boost Amex :yahoo:

My BCE is showing green "OK"'s all the way back on EQ only. TU and EX do not but all three show the back date in the "Date Opened" field. I believe this is what counts towards your AAOA.

Oh ok, thanks for pointing it out. So far the BCP has reported on EX only. I will keep and eye out for the EQ and TU reporting in the next few days.

Have you looked on CreditKarma or one of those to see what your new AAOA is now, and compared it to before?

Yes. EX AAOA has gone up from 5.6 to 6.6 Years in USAA-CCMP. Currently EQ AAOA is 6.2 years and TU is 5.5 Years. I will do a manual calculation when I get a chance later today as well.

I was mistaken about the current EX AAOA (before Amex BCP reported). Should have said 6.4 and not 5.6

Manual calculations are in.

Experian

========

After Amex BCP reported today, EX AAOA went up from 6.4 to 6.6
Assuming Amex Surpass reports next month, EX AAOA will be up from 6.6 to 6.7

Equifax

=======

Current EQ AAOA according to USAA-CCMP = 6.2 (matches manual calculation perfectly) Assuming Amex BCP reports tomorrow, EQ AAOA will be up from 6.2 to 6.4
Assuming Amex Surpass reports in August, EQ AAOA will be up from 6.4 to 6.6

TransUnion

==========

Current TU AAOA according to USAA-CCMP = 5.5 (matches manual calculation perfectly) Assuming Amex BCP reports [s]tomorrow[/s] (next week, lazy TU), TU AAOA will be up from 5.5 to 5.7
Assuming Amex Surpass reports in August, TU AAOA will be up from 5.7 to 6.1

The biggest boost is obviously for TransUnion, where I should be breaking the magic 6 year AAOA because of the backdating. In the process of calculations, I realized one of the Gas cards(BP Amoco/Citi) from 2003 is not showing up on my TU report, hence the current lower AAOA there. I think I have this card in my drawer, might call them to see if they can report it to TU but I doubt it because it is closed.

Sadly I also realized that I won't be hitting 7 years AAOA until April 2013, if I do not open any more accounts until then. :blush2:

Last week, I attempted updating my "Member Since" date on my Amex Zync (opened in 2010) referencing a Gold authorized user card my brother had opened for me back in 2001. Took all of five minutes on the phone, and my wonderful AMEX rep noticed that I had a Green AU card opened by my sister back in 1993! I had completely forgotten about it, but my rep mentioned it even before I had the chance to blurt out the year 2001. Today, I received my updated "Member Since '93" Zync card, and will pay close attention to my credit reports in the next few months to see if anything shows up.

I had tried in the past to update to my Gold AU "Member Since" date but to no avail. It may have to do with the fact that my brother had a BK a few years ago and included his AMEX Gold in it (however, my AU card still shows up as Open and in good standing on my credit report). My sister also went through BK several years ago, however I think that my Green AU card was so short lived that it wasn't renewed, and therefore was deactivated/closed while my sister was still in good standing with AMEX.

All in all, I love my shiny new "Member Since '93" Zync card... mind you, I was all of 8 years old back in 1993! dance.gif

Nice work SDL! Congrats. That is one hefty boost to your AAOA!

Apparently my Amex Surpass didn't report because of $0 balance closing. I had $0 balance closing for BCP as well, but they stuck the $75 BCP fee on July 3rd and reported it as statement balance. :lol:

Applied for Zync, IIB'd AmEx 12 years ago for $13k.

Got my card today, activated, and...

Looking for AUs, by any chance? :P

LOL, I'm waiting for my FR notice!!! And I'll be slaughtered, because my tax return doesn't match my stated income... I was only in my current well-paying job for the second half of 2011, before that I was only working part-time after a layoff. Would they accept paystubs? I was FR'd once, in the late 90s, but I don't remember what they asked for. I was in a steady job, so it wasn't a problem.

Only tax returns from the IRS.

Guess I'm screwed, then. As is anyone who's in a better-paying job in 2012 than in 2011. As ridiculous as that sounds.

hmm is this a serious offer? :P

I had a question about the backdating getting harder...

I got my first AMEX this year. I want to add an AU who never had an AMEX this year. If that person then gets their own AMEX 5 years from now should they have problems getting it backdated to this year? (assuming AMEX policy stays the same)

Posted

Not necessarily, just keep a low profile, and don't use that card much for the next year.

I just threw a $20 reload onto my Starbucks card with it. I'm not going to do anything to get their attention. Just have to make it until... February or so, when I file for 2012.

That's a long time. sad.gif

I think D* is going to get harder as more people take advantage of it, thanks to threads like this. :P

I should have said "don't use it much for BIG purchases" :D

I already have a couple AMEX cards. If someone adds me now as an AU on a card they've had since the 90s can I get my current cards backdated or is it too late since I already have my own open AMEX cards?

The right CSR can D* you to the AU Member Since date, even though you have your own AmExes.

just got my BCE and logged in hoping to see "member since 1997" but no, it said 2012 :(

The account I had in 97 was a corp card that was charged off. Should I wait it out a billing cycle or two or call?
