What issues are you having?

I use this skin on my iPhone, iPad and Android. No issues what so ever. I like it.

I am on a newer 17 inch LED monitor. I have the screen brightness turned as low as it will go (my standard setting due to sites with white backgrounds and funky contrast coloring). It is still blindingly bright. If I were to turn the screen to 50% bright, it is sunglasses time. I dare not go to 100% brightness. I can see the difference in the post box compared to the normal screen, which is a light gray color moving to gradient color on right. I, too, see the diagonal lines on the right of screen.

That being said, I have always had issues with bright light. While in contrast it does appear gray, it is still extremely bright on the monitor. Even turned down as low as it will go. That bright appearance of the lighter colors in contrast with the dark colors is playing tricks on my lil eyeballs. Maybe that is what makes the gray appear brighter...the contrast with the darker reds?

I haven't looked at CB on my mobile yet, but it appears I am stuck in "mobile" mode on my home PC. Based on Pam's plea for patience for about a week, I can tough it out. Maybe they are just working out the kinks and getting feedback from users? Even logged in, it is very bright.

Overall, I like the layout and appearance. Easy to use. It is the brightness that is actually making my eyes hurt...no...literally...eyeball pain. The icons are larger for text options and linking. I like this. A lot. Plus the tabs at the top of screen are very convenient.

I can live with the super bright appearance. I just wanted to let you know that I do like the new appearance, except for the brightness factor.

i have no problem being on mobile IF everyone else was..but they are not..and the people that dont like the new skin can have my mobile and ill gladly take their new colorful skin.

basically something is wrong with IE or something else that no other skin options are avaliable to us and i wanted to enjoy the fruits of her labor for a week..also i'm worried next week comes with new skin and i cant get that either

i dont know how much more of mobile i can take..it's so drab and boring and the navigation is not fun at all

Well goodbye then. don't let the "close" button hit you on the way out.

If you had bothered to read either this or the other thread, you would know this is temporary. but no, you still have to be an flowers. Not only that, you know that one of the board owners put a considerable amount of work into this skin, but yet you continue to be rude and insulting.

You aren't paying for access to this board. You aren't paying for this skin. If you hate it oh so much, then just leave. No one is forcing you to be here. You can come back to harass us in a few weeks when a new skin is up.

Agree with road2freedom. On my high rez vid card and flat screen monitor it is rough on the eyes. The white makes it hard for me anyways too pick up the grey's.

Uhm.

There's no white.

Sorry, except for quote boxes.

It isn't white. But on mine, But I can only tell that because the text entry box is white, and I have comparison. The background looks kind of a pink/greyish offwhite... though the pinkish part might be because I have the red balance a little bit off.. But it looks very close to white. Both Chrome and FireFox browsers... Though the right side of does fade to a striped grey... It looks very nice though. Yes.

The background is definitely grey. I've been using this skin for almost a year, as have a few of the mods, and we aren't seeing anything that shows as white.

or striped grey.

Over a year. I saw it during the puke-fest last year

Also,

it's only here for a week. I would hope you guys could indulge me for a week or so.

And you know, I put a lot of work into this, so be nice, sheesh.

Is it just a power trip then? What's stopping the admin team from allowing the users to choose the theme they prefer? MANY forums around the 'net allow this. Doesn't mean you have to maintain them. You just keep adding until there's a healthy number of choices. I honestly can't wrap my mind around why an admin team would think it's not a good idea to give some theme options. Especially for those with less than stellar eyesight. I understand the forum is ran by admins and what they say goes, but not giving a theme choice just seems downright dumb.

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

This works if you don't have any customizations to the forum. Which.....guess what, you rude-flowers? This one does. So yeah.... Each skin that we offer? Has to be customized to work with our software modifications. And given that there have been 5 upgrades to this software over the past 14ish months, and oh- I have a full time job and go to school and have a family, and yeah.

Get off your high horse, please. Just because you dislike my opinion doesn't mean you've got to be so condescending. Many people (not everyone, but many) dislike this current theme and would prefer to go back to what it was before, as proven in this thread thus far.

Keeping up with an unlimited number

Hold up. Did you even read what I said? I said "a healthy number of choices." I never once said "unlimited" nor did I imply it...

...of skins (each of which have to be modified when there's an upgrade) doesn't rank high on my list of priorities.

Since you choose to twist what I say, shall I? SO ARE YOU SAYING CB ISN'T HIGH ON YOUR PRIORITY LIST???!! WHY ARE YOU EVEN AN ADMIN THEN?!?!?! (you get my point)

I don't know who you are, but I'm gonna suggest that you mosey back on over to the credit forum and keep out of my path for the next few.... millenia.

Ok, again with the condescending 'tude? I don't get it. Constructive criticism (obviously up for debate and you didn't view it as constructive criticism) isn't welcome around here, I suppose?

Cause my sense of helping the community and altruism ends at the point where you call me dumb.

When'd I do this? OH! I'm sorry, I guess you're twisting what I said yet again. rolleyes.gif

Unless you want to stay here and spout some more chocolate that you have no idea about, cause chances are I'll be cranky as all get out in the morning and it could get interesting.

No idea about what? Running a forum and skinning it? First you say you don't know who I am and then you go and make accusations about things I do or do not "know about?" Jesus, you are hypocritical.

I tried taking a break from CB for a while, due to how the administration team presents and carries itself, to perhaps come back with a better understanding. Unfortunately, that didn't work as planned and it's even worse now that I know who "Pam" is. I don't like it, and a lot of people don't like it (yeah yeah, there's the door, etc etc). I'm sure this post will probably end up in myself getting banned after said admin team and/or Pam comments and I won't be able to defend myself--fine. I honestly don't know why I came back here. I guess I hoped for the best. It's so blatantly obvious that the admin team here thinks they're 'above' the normal member population. There's a difference between cockiness and confidence. Unfortunately, a lot of the admin team take the member population for granted (I'm sure you'll reply to this saying that you don't take them for granted, etc, whatever.).

ETA from the other thread:

I spent a shitload of time working on the new skin and 2 seconds after I turn it on, people are bitching. So I took you old option away. It'll be a week and the old skin will be back. Stop being whiny and be more appreciative.

Really, Pam? Sense of entitlement much? Sounds like someone is throwing a temper tantrum. Just because you spend so long skinning this forum (how long was it, by chance?) you have to force the theme on everyone here just because no one can use it? I understand your "logic" here but, I certainly don't think it's a professional move. I guess the line of work you're in may not have these things happen from time to time? Being in business development, database architecture and software development, I make changes or come up with processes to better the business and then my work goes obsolete due to a market change or something out of my control. You have to suck it up and move on. Implementing a theme because you spent so much time on it (boo hoo) and it's obsolete due to an upgrade, ESPECIALLY for just a week, is very unprofessional. Think about it from a business aspect...you build something for a customer and then the market said customer is in announces changes to requirements or specs. This change is coming in a week. Do you implement your old solution just so the customer can "see it" just to have to deploy something else later on? Sounds pretty hokey. But hey, what do I know? wacko.gif

It is what it is. You're right, I'm wrong because I oppose things or disagree with your opinion(s). No big deal, there are other forums.

It freaked me out for a few. I thought I broke the interwebs... But I got over it! I kinda like it actually. I bet there will be complaining when it changes back. Can't please everyone.

My experience with CB admin and the majority of users here is quite the opposite of what was expressed. I just wanted to say that CB has helped me a lot in getting my credit cleared up and keeping it that way. I've always found them to be helpful. Of course, I try to be respectful, too, so that probably goes a long way in how they respond.

Pam asked everyone to be patient. If I recall, there were some issues when it changed last time (and I probably complained about something :blush2: . As with everything new, sometimes there are hiccups that must be ironed out. And sometimes it just takes getting used to change. Accept it or not, that is a choice everyone can make.

I am finding that the more I log in, the easier it is to see the screen. Maybe it is just my brain having to reset to the new screen display. I still like the changes overall.

I like the new skin I saw when I went on through the internet.

Hey Jeremy09, it's good to see you back to being so appreciative as you have been in the past.

First, the admin team carries itself comparable to the manner in which some member carry themselves.

Let's go all the way back to the beginning of this pathetic thread. Did you read where she said it would be as it is for 1 week? Are you kidding me that you need to make such a furor over 1 weeks time?

Some of you think we are here to cater to your every whim. Guess what? None of us are robots. We have real lives, real families, real work. This was and still is a hobby that we put our own damn money into to run. Do you know how much we make from this site to sit here and listen to crap like this over 1 freaking week? ZERO. It gets old listening to the bitching and griping over something so pathetically unbelievable as having to suffer with a skin for 1 week?

Big difference Jeremy in doing something you get paid for and doing something for free just so we can hear the gracious sound of bitching. Your complaining is hokey. You are hokey.

It's real easy to sit on your side a preach about how you would do things. Not quite as easy on this side. Sure, constructive criticism is welcome here. Blatant trashing and bitching is not and your little theatrics don't bear the slightest resemblance to constructive criticism.

It's only here for a week(ish). By the time the old skin comes back, you'll be all squeezing a lemon and moaning that you miss this one.

;)

Sorry Pam, I didn't mean to be rude. I don't deal with change very well, lol.

Mine looks white on the left, fading into grey on the right. When I reply, the box is SUUUUPER white. It's like looking at my legs on screen.

I didn't mean to come off as bitchy, so I apologize. :blush2:

You're still my favorite.
