It is leukemia. She starts chemo Tuesday. We'll be here at least two weeks.

Thanks for the thoughts.

I am so sorry Giraffy, I will keep you all in my prayers.

I am extremely sorry to hear this. I can empathize as I know first-hand what it is like to sit next to a critically ill child. Many positive thoughts and prayers from my family to yours. Keep the faith and trust in your medical team....they truly can work miracles.

Thank you, all of you.

Lucky for us, the resident here today is a leukemia specialist. Based JUST on the blood tests today, he thinks she has whatever type it is that's the LEAST bad. Vague, I know, but I can't remember. She's got bone marrow testing tomorrow AM, and she should start chemo right after those results are back, so tomorrow night/tues am. It's pretty hard core, he said, for the first 6 months.

Whatever type it is, has a 95-97% cure rate. So. There's that.

Thanks again.

Both of these things are good! Still this is so terrifying. You all continue to be in my thoughts... and I am going to hug my kids a little tighter tonight!

Least bad and 95-97% make it sound a little better/less scary. I hope? I am not a church person, but I continue to pray/positive thoughts for you and Baby.

That's so good to hear! Sounds like the same type a little girl from another site I'm on had. She's doing great now. It's a rough road to get there but you know you'll have plenty of support and prayer warriors holding y'all up. Hugs and kisses.....now lay down and get some rest momma.

I am so glad to hear that the prognosis is good - will continue to keep you all in my prayers. You are such a strong, positive, person - that is going to be such a help to her.

I am bit relieved to know that the cure rate is 97%. I am sure with your love towards your kid, she will beat this.

Keeping your baby and your family in our prayers.

Thank heaven for small favors.

Although I don't consider myself a particularly religious person, I do believe in the power of prayer and it's times like these that I'm glad I am still connected to our home church congregation - they will be praying for you guys, too.

I, too, wish we were local so that there was more we could do.
