I just checked out the site again and i notice they took off the visa and mcc logo off.......and if you check out the credit report section it looks like they try to cover up another webpage....it looks really funny.

The MC and VISA logo is still there.

Just saw it has reappeared on the front page...makes me wonder if the disappearance and reappearance means they were getting to speak with Brand Managers for one of the networks.

I've said before - you should not call something a scam if you don't have proof - I mean real proof. It's fine to post discrepancies, point out things that don't add up - but saying it's a scam or illegal is just not a good idea. Inconsistencies are not proof of a scam.

Remember that you can seriously damage legitimate businesses that way - that is not something we want to do. Asking questions, asking them for proof, checking on them - fine.

I'm sorry, but every time I've checked the site it is the same as the last time I checked it. If you find something they change, please save the screen shot and send it to me or post it, otherwise, I'm going to believe my own eyes.

This is not an endorsement, it's just a warning that you need to be careful about certain kinds of accusations if you don't have real proof.

Maybe not a scam in the literal sense, but certainly not a vetted, reputable firm for sure, and very fishy-smelling.

That email from them that daniel posted is quite unprofessionally worded, imo.

Mail drop for a business address?

I'll just say I never inteded to slander Anacott. I simply wanted answers to the questions we raised.

I got a call from a manager with Anacott and had a long disscussion with him. Suffice it to say, there were many missunderstandings and it seems that most of them are just due to lack of communication and ill-trained initial point of contact customer service reps. It appears that Anacott is working as many other online credit submitters do by marketing the apps to several different banks (about 100 according to the manager). Basically what it comes down to is that they are a marketing firm for subprime consumer credit and not a card issuer themselves.

I have absolutely no problem with that - that is totally a legitimate business in this industry. But I said that none of the customer reps could tell me that the first point of contact I had infered that no, it was their card that gets issued. And indeed that the website infers the same with the picture.

I am not apologizing for the questions posed but I am apologizing for letting the misscomunications escalate to the point they did and for causing any problems on my part. According to the manager I spoke with, they will be actively working on the website and on retraining the customer reps to avoid the things which seem missleading.

I'll report more as I learn more by working with them and hopefully clear up all the issues we've brought up.

Scam or not, they should disclose what the $99 is for before they take it from you.

Consumers should insist on seeing said disclosures before handing their money over.

They appear to be sub-sub-sub-prime bottom-feeders.

Despite the claim that the $99 is refunded, it almost sounds like the advance-fee loan issues that were prevalent a few years back...

And, quite frankly, if they are farming out to other issuers, then it begs the question of how they can have ANY card-related disclosures if it is not even their card being issued.

DUE DILIGENCE should be the key term of the day for anyone considering ANY credit product that requires payment up-front...

I have applied with them but did not entered a card number that did not have the fee available. I called and talked to them as well and they do seem legit. If anyone else who has applied and paid the fee receives a card, please post. If I see that this is legit, I will move forward with the 99.00 fee.

Has anyone recived there card yet?

I called them the other day and they said my card was sent out on sept 16 and i won't recive it until 30th of sept I think that's alittle long to wait this whole process took 1 month. If I don't get it I already disputed it with my cc.

Hello all---I'm a Newbie here, but an Oldie in the banking/financial/credit business, and I never post to boards, but I can't resist this one, as I just came from the Anacott site myself. This is not directed at anyone, but just some knowledge-----First of all, This company is legit, some would question the ethics, but the are legit. As stated i have had extensive experience in this business (I'm no longer because I was involved with a physical drama 10 years ago, and have been 100% disabled (SSDI) since.) A lot of people with say , RED FLAG! charging you a $99. fee----RED FLAG! They rate is way out of wack! RED FLAG!etc...etc...etc....The people that raise these questions are typically people that never had to live paycheck to paycheck, never had to worry about exceeding their $25,000 line of credit on their Triple Platinum visa.....God Bless Them, and more power to them.... But I am disabled, out of work for 2 years waiting for SSDI funds to be released, went thru a separation and divorce while this was going on, and cared for 2 parents who had terminal diseases (both Alzheimer's) at the same time----Needless to say, I have had credit issues.....Believe me, I am in no way advocating this company, or any like it.....Be sure to do your homework, make sure the rate and fees you are being charged fall within the legal guidelines of the state, or country, where it is being issued. The old adage rings true----If it seems too good to be true, it probably is....I'm beginning to reestablish my credit, it is going to be a long road, and companies (finance companies in particular) give people like me a shot to make good. But I know going in it isn't going to be pretty, but sometimes it is the only way. Good Luck to all of you, and if I may be of assistance, even though I' a newbie, please do not hesitate to ask......Kenny

Hello guys, this is my first post.

They offer a "free" FICO report on their site, I posted a bunch of bogus information in it and it went through and said the score was 548. how do you know my credit score with random information? The probability of it matching someone is like .0000000001%. I used the name William Dingleberry

That's not all, I even applied with the same bogus information and got approved for $1,700 so as you can see they don't know who you are, but are willing to give you money. Think about it like this....they are supposedly offering a "sub prime" deal that even people with good credit have a hard time getting, but extend credit to everyone? If this was the case and was a safe practice the banks that did verify information would have never went under.

The free FICO score thing is a lie, if they will like to sell you their product even if they are legit, what makes you think that they are in a good business practice?

Also, I called all 3 extensions (Operator, Customer Support and New Service), and I got the same guy which sounded like he was working in a mechanic shop. If this doesn't already sound sketchy to you.

I still waiting to see if I get my card I haven't heard of anyonereciveing a card yet from them. I just don't understand what they are capable of doing. HPthunder did you see ther fico score site is it still offset....like they try to copy and paste fico??

After playing the waiting game for the Anacott card to arrive we finally got out card only it wasn't an Anacott car with a $2100 credit limit as promised. It was a a prepaid debit card through somebody called "AchieveCard" with a beginning balance of $0. $99 for what I could have got for free most anywhere else. Scam no, rip off yes. The purpose of this card was for my wife to rebuild her credit. Can one even rebuild their credit with a prepaid DEBIT card?

$99 for a $0 pre-paid debit card. Nice. I wasn't sure how it would end. Didn't expect that twist, though.

And, the answer to your (surely rhetorical) question -- No...

It allows you to put all your information in before it gives you a FICO score. I even put myself in twice and my FICO was 419 once and 559 the other. This could possibly be a scam to steal your identity, because normally when you go for any kind of credit report they ask you for some "personal" information like a few questions about loan history before they will show you anything on your credit report. Pretty much the pave gives you a bogus FICO score and adds 100 points to it at the bottom to entice you.

I agree I have been looking at different websites on line and I feel that they are posting false statements about there company....I have heard good and bad things I just don't know what to belive. I also paid 99 dollars to anacott but they sent me a email say I will get it at the end of the month.....which i'm not depending on. The reason I did it in the same week I was approved for orchard card and first premier card so I thought it was legit I guess I will find out at the end of the month. Did you dispute it with the ccc?

Posted

If you don't get your card, i'd strongly suggest you try to do a chargeback. Many banks will let submit a chargeback claim for items not as described or fraud.

I've had the Orchard card and it's decent, but the First Premier card was rediculous with fees when I had it. The best CC company i've ever dealt with believe it or not was Chase with my Chase Rewards card...but then that was when I had good credit. Even when I got behind, they were leniate and honestly tried to help me.

I'm sorry fixinitup2buy about your experience, but you know there's always light at the end of the tunnel somewhere. Any website can look legit, it just depends on how much time the person puts into it. If you get your card please let us know :clapping:

i don't know what to believe cuz I saw that people received there card and it had a limit and I also saw earlier that someone received a prepaid card. I

I may have read wrong, but didn't you dispute your $99 payment with your CC company? If so, they might not send the card at all. (Again, I may have misunderstood about your dispute.)
