Juniper's not bad just quirky.

No one said Juniper is bad, but they are considered 'sub-prime' by most people.

I consider them 'quirky' but not sub-prime, since they don't even report on my CR as Juniper anymore....but as Barclays.......my Juniper CL hasn't exactly stopped me from getting approvals elsewhere..

I consider them sub-prime because of their crappy interest rates. :good:

LOL...apparently it's taboo to ask that question? I'm not sure why but Juniper seems to be a sub-prime company and I honestly don't know why anyone (not just George) would want it if they didn't need it.

Maybe you all could fill me in on the 'here we go again' part cause I have no clue what the issue is. :glare:

Keyword search - whymorecards

http://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?s...hl=whymorecards

Look at post 5

Oh trust me, I know how to use the search button in fact I have been known to tell others to use it. But seriously, you think I should have known to actually use the keyword 'whymorecards?' LOL That's not even what I was asking.

I understand the idea of utilization and all...which is basically what that thread is about. That's not what I was asking. I was wanting George's opinion on the subject. Why would HE want another card, especially a sub-prime card when IIRC he has over 100k in available credit. Or is it 200k?

I have a few cards that I keep for utilization but my total available credit is much, much, much less than his...if I had his limits, I wouldn't be applying for Juniper, that's for sure. Or barclays or whatever they are called now.

They are considered sub-prime and in my opinion, that could look 'negative' on a report if someone was doing a manual review. Just like cap one, orchard, aspire, etc.

I can't believe you would compare Juniper/Barclays to "CAP ONE, ORCHARD, ASPIRE" - that is ridiculous.

My Frontier card has a lower interest rate than my Amex Clear - but I guess that must make AMERICAN EXPRESS sub-prime too.

WHATEVER.

In that case, you'd have to throw all the other major 'Prime' CC issuers into the same bathwater...they are all capable of providing consumers 'crappy' interests rates.....IMHO Barclays on some cards have a lower APR than say the lowest tier on say my Citi..

Judging by jenyphur's previous posts/topics on this board, she is hardly one to complain about "subprime" or to accuse others of going for "too much unnecessary credit."

SG,

Jenypher is simply looking to get a rise out of people with her (I'm assuming it's a her) sweeping generalizations. Don't buy into it.

First of all, it's just my opinion...nothing more, nothing less. Not trying to get a rise out of people. In my opinion, I do not feel that Juniper is 'prime'. Maybe sub-prime is a bit harsh...so maybe mid-prime is a bit more accurate. I'm basing my opinion on my current interest rates. They are one of my highest rate right now.

And why are you judging me on previous posts? Did you go and read all of my 1500 posts? I hope so. If you didn't read all 1500 of them then I guess one could say you made a sweeping generalization about me.

And who's complaining about subprime? Why would you even say that? What was I complaining about? I'm not even sure where you are going with that one. Who's accusing George of having too much unnecessary credit? I was asking why he would want more, not accusing or judging him in any way. Sheesh...lighten up a bit. I'm just trying to figure out why he would want more if he has like 100k available. I could understand if he needed it for utilization to help his score out, but from what I can tell...he doesn't. So I was trying to find out what the reason might be.

What's sad is this place is starting to be a place where you can't even ask a simple question without being attacked.

This is so true....not to jack the topic, but this has seemed to become an increasingly large problem it seems like throughout several topics....anyhow, I am trying to get the time to come around and post more as I have been EXTREMELY busy, but everytime I try and catch up on what's been going on lately, somebody is getting clobered in one of these topics.....that statement holds much substance....anyhow...

It seems that with the question the OP was asking, she was wondering of all the diff places George could have went to for additional credit, with the lines generally passed out by Juniper, why would he go in search of an account with them as the addition of their tradeline could not have much of an impact on utilization with where he is currently with his limits.....

If I have interpreted this incorrectly, OP can correct me, but that is what I got from it after following topic from the original post.

Hope I helped someone today....

That's exactly what I was trying to get across...

Thank you. You did help someone today....me, and it's appreciated. I'm not sure how any of my comments got mistaken for me judging him and/or ridiculing but thanks for taking the time to read from the beginning and posting your interpretation of the thread.

Maybe people are having a bad day, we all have them but I honestly feel like some people LOOK for the negative in all things posted.

Now, you'll probably get flamed for posting your opinion...hope you have your suit on. :(

Just a reminder that if a member finds a post that crosses the line into personal attacks or any other TOS violation, the "report" button will bring it to our attention.

We want CB to remain a place where everyone feels welcome. (unless they are a troll or other obvious troublemaker, lol) Healthy differences of opinion should never be discouraged.

How does the question relate to OP's post about EX INQ? Pre-approved v. cold app? Others that have been approved with $400K -$500K total CL..YMMV

Huh? The OP didn't have a question..just a statement.

If people didn't take posts off topic sometimes, we would not know 1/2 of what we know now. Sometimes, it's a good thing to take posts in other directions. We have learned a lot about this crazy credit world by asking questions, thinking outside the box, etc.

Pretty much 90% of this post is 'off topic', especially all the personal attacks.

George, please don't take offense to me asking the question. I was just curious as to why you would apply for the card. You and many others here know so much and when you do something, lots of people want to know why. Take that as a compliment, not a judgemental statement.

Also, I don't think you mentioned which card it was from Juniper...do you care to share? It appears that they have some pretty decent aprs on some of their cards, which I wasn't aware of. Hey...that's one good thing that came out of this thread. I didn't know about all their partner cards and low aprs.
