Btw I heard they have reinstituted asset requirements this week or last week. No longer giving apps on request without asset questions. Who knows though

That's what I get for waiting it out. Darn it

Hope that's not true.

Did anyone else get the Christie's Spring Events invitation in the mail today?

I got it. Never been to one of these events, is it anything good?

I've not gone to one. This is the second invite I've gotten. I've been looking for another reason to slum in NYC. Alas these dates for the current rsvp events don't work with my travel schedule.

I got an eight pound book (Destinations 2011) delivered yesterday via UPS that talks about the various destinations and the hotel benefits the Palladium card provides there. It's a pretty decent listing from glancing through it.

It will be interesting to see if the offer makes it to everyone.

The card is my daily card and so far, the benefits have been worth while. Only complaint is their inability, or rather, unwillingness to try and do something with the UA/CO lounges.

I called up the concierge line asking about some other stuff and asked them about it. The concierge emailed me the information and created an account for me. Not sure when I'll use it... but it definitely looks interesting.

The representative who I spoke with to complete this enrollment also offered me United Club membership which I gladly accepted. I made a remark about how if they had Delta Sky Club access I'd cancel my Amex Platinum and he said he would pass that along.

I don't know if I got lucky or this is being targeted. I am now charging over $20k a month on this card though

No go for me... Called them up and they said all they have right now is the Lounge Club access which doesn't have United/Continental. She did mention that all credit card companies, including Amex, lost access to those clubs.

Then I guess I got lucky. Interesting enough I don't have any United spend as I fly exclusively Delta. United does have clubs in airports where there is no Delta Sky Club so this is very helpful to me.

I have friend who was offered the same but others said they didn't get it. Seems like different people getting different benefits.

I can't believe I just read 25 pages of posts about a card I will never be able to obtain.

P.S. It was an interesting read though

That would be consistent with what the representative told me this afternoon. He said they want the Palladium cardholder benefits to be exclusively tailored to the individual cardholder. We shall see this is looking promising.

I just called JP about this. The person I spoke with said they are not affiliated with GHA.he had no idea what I was talking about. He spent some time looking and came back with a definite no. I currently have a GHA Platinum level card so I was very interested in getting bumped up to Black. Basically if you stay in one of their hotels 30 days plus per year you are bumped to Black. Is it possible that you have been staying in affiliate hotels already and someone else was making this offer to you? The other possibility is that there are truly different levels of Palladium cards???? I got my card in 2011 with a $40k limit and 10k cash. Maybe only your higher CL's get additional perks? I also received the large 2011 hotel hard bound book with the card last year. I've asked a couple of times about the United Red Carpet problems and they said it is out of their control. United dropped everyone. The only way you can get into a United Club is if you have a first class international ticket, a United Red Carpet Club Card, the new United Red Carpet Club Visa card. a full fee Priority Pass card (not the Select card JP or AMEX issued) or if you pay the one time entrance fee of $50 per person. They also mentioned that they were switching to the half as good Lounge Club (owned by Priority Pass) card soon. Yuk.

I can assure you my email was coming from concierge@concierge.jpmorgan.com. I think you need to call back and speak with the right person wink.gif

It could also be that they are targeting certain offers to certain people. Did you get the invite to the art show at Christie's ?

Posted (edited)

I called the main number. I will call the concierge number tomorrow. No did not get the art show invite. I would not go but it is nice to get invites. :) Another thing I have noticed is that when I call they ask me for my card number and password. It used to be "whom am I speaking with?"

and then how may I assist you Mr......? Again the main number only.

How much do you guys pull in annually (salary) to justify a card like this?

I don't think the CL has anything to do with who gets certain perks. You have a higher limit and I received black status with GHA. I will call today and try to inquire about additional benefits, will report the results.

just to be pedantic...if you have gold status on *alliance you get free access when traveling on most international itineraries regardless of the ticketed fare class.

Did you call PD CSR or concierge? it sounds to me like it was the latter that got people additional bling.

several folks have provided that detail earlier in the thread. I was told by the CSR to use HHI which is probably the only reason I was approved.

Has anyone confirmed whether or not they have reinstituted asset requirements or made it "invite" only again? Supposedly happened very recently

reports on FT suggest the barn door slammed shut after hegemony got loose.
