I notice people are saying their app's are being approved based on their DNB #, but there's no place to enter a DNB number on the app I just looked at. What gives? Do they match the company name to the DNB number automatically, or am I missing something here? I'm tempted to apply but don't want to waste a personal INQ if I can help it. Thanks.

I applied for the citi cards 4th of July weekend, the PP on 3rd, and AA and Thank you on the 4th. I didnt want to post my excitement until I had the cards in hand! I think I did my stats right on my sig. I am mainly just a reader, my virtual assistance business credit is shot, and my brokerage has to stay clean for my investors. I am too excited my non-profit is doing this!

LLC 2006, in business as sole 2 years, 2 showing on Experian but none on DNB as of yet. They keep wanting me to do that credit builder thing for 299 but I'm not going to. I do have net 30's though. UPS, QUILL, and NEBS. I forgot about Sprint. I have Sprint too.

I just had a very good conversation with a Citi Rep. I called because I was curious about how they treat application from one person but under different corps. As you can in my sig I have the trio for corp #1 but I am preparing to apply for Corp #2 and wanted to get some info.

Here is what they told me.

1) The credit limits are actually based, in large part, on the income stated for the person giving the PG. He told me that the max credit is usually around 15-25% of the individuals gross income. I wanted to know how the credit I already have would affect what I would get with Corp #2 because of max exposure. He said the business income comes into play but minimally. He said the income stated on the app for the PG is what plays a large part in the limit decision.

2) DnB- The guys I spoke with told me that the paydex score was not as important as the intelliscore on your dnb file. For example: This is for my Corp #2

Likelihood this company will not pay on time over the next 12 months: LOW

Credit Score Class: 2

The Credit Score class of 2 for this company shows that 4.6% of firms with this classification paid one or more bills severely delinquent, which is lower than the average of businesses in D&B's database.

Credit score percentile: 85 (high risk: 1%; low risk: 100%)

Industry norm percentile: 49 (high risk: 1%; low risk: 100%)

I told him I had 4 tradelines reporting and that I was waiting for the 5th to get a paydex. I asked if I should wait on the paydex and he said yes if you think it will raise your intelliscore but based on the score you told me I think you should go ahead and apply.

3) Payment history- he said most of what they do is automated and not done manually. They will check dnb and/ or experian and they will also check the payment history with past Citi cards. (This does not include store cards. Only Citi PP, Citi AA, Citi Biz Plat) Therefore, if you have 2 corps and the first corp has good payment history on those cards then it plays very well for you in the application for corp #2's cards. He said the system really doesn't look at balances (i.e. whether all the cards for corp 1 are maxed out) instead it looks at payment history, what % of the balance was paid each time. (i.e. if only the minimum was paid you would have worse profile than someone that paid more than the min)

I hope this is helpful. Please do not take this information as gospel but only as more info for you to come to your own conclusion.

Could someone point me in the right direction? I am overwhelmed by all the info here and not sure which way to go.....

I filed Chap. 7 in 2003. I want to start a business and have been writing the business plan. Small business, no employees, but I need a loan of $50k to get going. I think this is going to be hell trying to get this as I don't have much collateral (We rent) Owe on both cars too and my credit score is around 615.

I've been told by a small business expert that the BK won't necessarily disqualify me, but it will make it much more difficult.

I have a great business about to explode and he knows it and said as much. he is trying to help, but I'm very pessimistic about my chances.

Is there any hope for a loan or LOC? Where do I turn?

thanks and I apologize if I'm in the wrong area.

I received confirmation of approval on 10/11/06. It is always a great feeling to hear someone say yes, you are in, especially when you have been practicing beating down their door using someone elses. We practice on the little guys by getting net 30's, then on to the rest of the heard as we are only apart of the small flock waiting to be pointed in the right direction. Later on we're batting in the majors to always hear the crowd cheer us on til there is no more....no more credit to apply for, no more limits to die for, no more hoping, wishing, praying....

Whew read all 24 pages...

I came to the conclusions...it really paid to read

I will update my FICO tomorrow...

However I been getting a lot of business credit offers in the mail but I have been reluctlanty looking at them and throwing in the trash cans.

IF it wasnt for Creditboards I wouldnt known any better.

I am still debating on the incorporation process ~ but

I did recieve a mailing piece (not sure if it a preapproval or preselected application) for a CitiBusiness Card from a Mr. Kendall E. Stork, President and CEO of Citibank. However it was addressed to my attention

There seem to be some confusion over the PG status - but if you read the fine ink on the application it explicatlly state that the officer is personally liable for any expenses on the card.

So I thinking with my FICO scores and lack of a DNB and lack of a paydex score I would be decline. But this is a card that I would love to have.

I also noticed that the new business owners with less than 2 year of records has the tendency to get a lower LOC than the establish ones (over 2 years of business)

Oh it want me to apply for the card by decemeber 31 2006. I aint press for it now but would be nice to get this big loc of $20 or more because that would be a big cash fusion to help with the initial operating budget.

So my question to the vets...

Did yall have a goal for the use of business credit? In other word what was your reasoning for getting business credit

Also for lack of better word - how long does it take before one business can get the holy grail of business credit ~ I am referring to the big LOC that are in the six figure or more range.

gypsielife what were your fico scores like?

and someone ask if ya are required to put the ssn down ~ I would think so if you are the authorizing officer because citibank's lawyers basically put it in black and white on the application that as authorizng officer you are personable liable for expense occur from usage of the card. So if your business goes kaput then you gotta paid!

I applied for aa biz mastercard and biz premier pass. Transunion was pulled for aa and dnb for premierpass. Have had corp for 2 years ,8 tradelines ,80 score. 4k limit for aa and 20k for premier pass.

I get 20k aa miles after 250 dollars in purchases and 15 k than you points after first purchase which both are first year free. Premier pass is great you buy a airline ticket within anywhere in the 50 states and you get a free unlimited companion tickets as long as you spend 379 or more on ticket. Great for alaska or hawaii. Earn miles for how much you fly as long as you use card to buy ticket.
