I could definitely see myself utilizing the benefits of the Palladium down the road and it seems everyone who gets this card is pretty happy with it. I know the JPMorgan Private Banking is one route to get this card, but I noticed that this criteria at this time is not a "requirement". I'm looking to set my self up for the best chances of being approved for this card when/if I apply for this card down the road(>1 year from now).

For everyone who got approved w/out Private Banking, did you already have a banking relationship with Chase? Do you guys think I would be better off getting approved in the future if I started building a relationship with Chase? Maybe open a checking account and/or apply for one of their cards?

I know a relationship is usually a positive thing, but is there a chance that opening an revolving line with Chase could be negative because they would be able to see a history of low income or frugal spending patterns which is not similar to the spending patterns of those in their "target" market?

If it helps at all, I currently have 3 revolving lines (AMEX BCE, Penfed Rewards, and Citi Forward), hopefully one day $XX,XXX credit lines, and excellent credit (Last EXP FICO from AMEX BCE application was 789). Anyhow, would appreciate any advice on what would put me in the best position to one day be approved for this card asides from getting a 6 digit income and continuing to use my credit responsibly: (1) Start a relationship with Chase today applying for one of their other products (2) Wait until I feel that I am qualified for Palladium (3) Advise me to do something else.

Thanks!

This card is a real beauty. I thought my Chase Sapphire Preferred card was nice and heavy, but you're right, the Sapphire is more like a "paper clip"

Wow this card is NICE NICE NICE.

For those of you who are using the metal card, does it scratch easily? I ordered a plastic version of the card as well to use on a regular basis without drawing too much attention to myself.

congrats!

Mine has not scratched at all and it has certainly gotten a lot of use and abuse. You can request plastic editions of the card if you are worried.

I am being careful, however, in not putting Pd and sapphire preferred next to each other in my wallet since they are both metal, although sapphire is more like a paper clip and Pd is more like a brick.

can you post a photo of your welcome packet? I am curious if the 2012 edition is different from the one I got last year. thanks.

Here's my current banking relationship with Chase:

- Basic free checking account. I keep this account to make mobile deposits of checks. Also many of my friends / colleagues use Chase and they have a great quick pay feature for mobile payments.

- Chase Freedom credit card. I love the rotating 5% cash back categories.

- Chase Sapphire regular card. I don't really use this card.

- Chase Sapphire Preferred card. My go to card for dining purchases due to the 2x cash back.

- JP Morgan Palladium card. My new baby.

That's it! No savings account with them ( I go with ING Direct). No investment accounts with Chase (I have everything with Vanguard)

Good luck!

Don't know if this is true or not, but was posted by JCarter on creditcardforum.

"The benefits vary on which "level" of Palladium you have. If I can get my brochure scanned in, I will lay out the differences.

If you apply through the card through your wealth management office, then you get a level (3) (assuming that is how it is classified, is numbers?) card. Through Chase Premier Banking for the law group, it's a level (2) and then directly applying is a level (1)."

Has anyone been able to verify the different levels? I have been a good customer since getting the card so I am hoping if there's additional benefits I might qualify.

Hi There,

I received an application for the palladium card but for some reason I can't find the fax number anywhere on the application. Can someone please private me the fax number they used to submit their application?

thanks so much.

I just wanted to say hi to you all. I just applied for this card yesterday.

The rep i spoke with was very kind and emailed me the application. I filled it out and faxed it over at the end of the day. I received a phone call this morning telling me that they are reviewing my application now. I was told it may be a possibility that I will receive my card on Friday if I get accepted. Fingers crossed...

877-576-2828 is the number I was given last year, but IMHO you should call and verify this before faxing your sensitive data. good luck!

Thanks! I called back and got clarification. Apparently there are several fax numbers depending on how you're applying. The 1-877 fax number is the direct fax line for the dept that processes palladium card applications. There is also a (614) number which is their private banking fax line. What happens in this case is you fax your completed app back to that person and then they submit the app for you.

Not sure if I'll get approved but time will tell! :)

Well, if you had a Sapphire of any kind, and did an in-place conversion to a Select (I don't think you could do one to Palladium), and then go dispute the Sapphire TL (if it's short on age), it WILL fall off.

Ask me how I know.

;)

I'd rather have a card that I can charge 100K on and not have to care about utilization... ;) ask me how I know

he means ask him how in a PRIVATE message... bc this is public forum

hedge has coupons and we cant just have everyone getting the coupon code ph34r.gif

as far as I've learned from the powers that be, this is all part of the business plan for this card.

Right, Palladium is a non-reporter as well, right?

No christies mailer today for me. I also can confirm there is no errors in this tradeline not reporting, its on purpose.

Why is that? What's the reason a bank wouldn't report a trade line?

it is complicated...100K charges on a 35K reported credit limit.

however, I bet they will report if a tradeline goes bad.

I did a review and summary of benefits to the card here if anyone is interested.

No TL reporting!!! Is this a good thing?

No TL reporting is good for those who already have a lot of credit listed on their reports. A few lenders take the amount of available credit existing on an applicants reports into consideration.

Btw I heard they have reinstituted asset requirements this week or last week. No longer giving apps on request without asset questions. Who knows though

hmmmm. I wonder if they are going to fire poor people like me?

Hegemony I wouldn't worry. You already know they love you.
