Hi I am a new member... I have been lurking here for a while but decided to join. I was curious to know what my credit score was, I knew it was bad because of past history - so I decided to apply tonight for two cards - anyway, turns out my EQ is 563!!! I hope I can take advantage of the resources here and begin to build back up

Cheers

Greetings All,

I stumbled across this board after google'ing for some specific answers. After spending about a day of lurking, I decided join. I have an ambitious goal of purchasing a home in the next 6 months and cleaning the crap off my credit is a priority now. So far I've signed up for the USAA monitoring service, read a ton, opened up a secured Visa, read a ton more, pulled my CR from all 3 CRAs, and I plan to read more. Hopefully with my income ($120K) I'll be able to make it happen when the reports get polished up.

THANKS FOR EVERYTHING IN ADVANCE!

Wow! We are really growing fast!! It's wonderful!

As I see the new "faces," I can't help but wonder how you found us. So, I thought maybe you would be willing to respond to a poll (one of our really nice features).

I wanted to ask if medical bills were counted. That's all that's on my credit report and I'm working hard to rebuild my credit and pay my bills on time. Which I am doing.

I found your company when applying for credit with Amazon.

We have a special section for medical debts. Go to the main credit section and scroll down a little and you'll see it. :)

A good buddy of mine gained 60 points with bumpage and letters about 2 years ago. (I'm not sure how good bumpage is now with choppage and other stuff...)

My wife and I just found out that our old mortgage was still reporting as though it were active - we sold the house 3 years ago. The mortgage company went out of business before reporting to the CRAs that we sold the house.

Also found a ton of other "random" stuff on our report when we went to buy a new house a couple weeks ago.

I have been lurking and learning from this site for the past three days - reading, reading, reading! Starting our battle plan and getting organized so we can knock everything out in one foul swoop as much as possible.

Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed!

I have been lurking for a while now - have been in need of improving my credit for a couple of years now. Looking to buy a house so I figured CB would be the place to start. Payed for Lexington after 5 months of not a single deletion I've decided to take matters in my own hands.

TIme to get serious!

Hello everyone, my brother found creditboards and then called me one evening excited. He went on and on about how there is so much information about the steps to repair your credit. Soooo on his suggestion, I looked it up, began to read and have since become a member. I am excited and determined to utilize creditboards plethora of information to get my credit on the right track and hopefully a few of my life's goals will be realized. See you in the boards!

I've tried that Lexington Law but at the time I was just following directions not knowing what they were doing. It was a waste of money as far as I know. We have a few things in common. I'm ready to buy a home as well and I want to have options. I don't want to have to settle.Good Luck.

Add me to the list of those who have tried the paid services. I found this resource after getting started with Sky Blue - (Lexington competitor). After reading everything here, I've come to the conclusion that I can very likely be more effective and efficient than a 3rd party as there are several different angles/approaches that can be done simultaneously, where as they only appear to dispute with the CRA's. I think I can do better than that.

I am so very thankful to have found this forum!

It looks like I'll get a lot of knowledge from all you founding members.

Looking forward to using those big heads of yours ;-)

I found this forum on goole when searching for "Jack's Method of disputes." I've been reading that thread for the past three days and have a new outlook on my CR. I'm interested to see what else this forum has to offer.
