Yes, you need to make 15 transactions to get 4% interest. Otherwise, you don't get any interest for that statement cycle.

And in case anyone was curious as to the status of my Recon call.. The underwriter (Mr. Pope) and I agreed to "wait until the end of the year" and "get that utilization way down. It was a very nice phone call.. and unofficial confirmation of a nice Christmas present for me. Im SOO focused!

Update for me I guess elf is sensitive to inquiries they told me I had 10 when I have only 8 and one of those is from 08/10 but the rest will be off by the time 05/20 hits so I will reapply at that time. So denied for LOC of 5k with 670 score and 60% utl

Yup, I maxed the account to $1K (actually a little over) when I found out so the interest is pretty sweet. I'm following my continual pattern of paying my credit builder loan from the think big account early and when the funds clear I'm going to flip the cash BACK to the Think Big account for the higher interest. I'm paying a little each month for this (when you consider the interest on the CBL is way above 4%) but I'm building a great relationship with the elves and getting a positive tradeline that reports to all 3 bureaus to boot. My FAKOs are all above 600 now and I know another six months of good payment history and low utilization is going to open a lot of doors for me around the end of the year.

 

Once I'm closer to paying off the credit builder loan, I'm going to contact my friendly elves and see what they can do for me next. If I can get that one last judgement to budget from EQ and another baddie or two to drop I might experience some real elf magic this summer / fall.

She's going to order it for me on my behalf. I also asked her about High Interest Checking. She told me my Big Thing will not change into High Interest Checking. She remembered me asking about credit card program and she doesn't have any details on those. She will give me a call on May 21. Jamie is very nice, friendly and helpful. She's going to order it for me on my behalf. I also asked her about High Interest Checking. She told me my Big Thing will not change into High Interest Checking. I missed the ELF call, because it was made to my cellphone and not work. I can see the missed call, but as I get no cell reception at work, I can't listen to the voicemail.

 

I don't particularly mind, though, as I have nothing to say. I don't need any credit or loan products from them, and I'm not yet ready to move my main banking there, although I'm leaning in that direction. I don't need a high-pressure "when are you going to use us more??" sales call right now. Because I don't know what I'm doing yet.

I got my ELF call today. They really want me to do the credit builder loan. I'm still from getting new TL as I still have baddies in SOL until Sept. I don't want to move my main checking there. I was thinking whenever I may be graced with a new job then I will deposit my paycheck there and keep the other deposits in my main acct because it's a pita to move them.
