Try talking about "Bumpage" over there. Not only do they make it sound like a crime they give false advise saying it doesnt work.

B* may likely still work as it did a few years (no choppage) ago had it NOT been so talked about :lol:

They must think we do some things right. They COPIED my Auto Approval thread verbatim.

Dang!

I've never been on their forum to know where it is...

And

They didn't even ask!

I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

:D I noticed that but wasn't sure who was first... good to know.

You are only allowed to talk about goodwill letters in happy unicorn land.

Yeah, Unicorns and rainbow flavored cotton candy.

Im banned from there, as a punishment for not taking

kindly to idle threats.

I have at times wondered if they have some incentivized posters.

"Just hang in there, I had to send out over 900 goodwill letters and now my report is clean!!! :) :) :)"

...Really?

Sorry to hear. I didn't know they hate CB.

Ron.

It's cool and I didn't realize how much they hate CB until I got banned for helping a fellow member with a list of credit unions to join. sorry.gif

All is not lost though...I can contribute more on here now and we can talk freely about the credit cards you got and insider info you can provide wink.gif

I didn't believe they banned you because you're quoting CB. :o I think you're doing very good over there and you're helping them to give advice. I didn't see you were doing anything wrong (illegal). They didn't mention you couldn't quote some other forums. It's their loss.

Haha yea I was pretty shocked being banned for providing a link to CB that has a list of credit unions majority can join. Here is the post http://ficoforums.my...1216891#M340345 you can see for yourself that mod fused cut out the link and said I was violating their terms.

So I just found out that I am permanently banned from myfico forum for posting a link to here that has the list of credit unions compiled by BobWang (thank you for the list by the way).

I hope you don't mind that I shared the link. I really don't want to get banned from this site either sorry.gif

I was just trying to help a fellow member at myfico find out about some awesome credit unions but obviously its against their policy to share this site because it's considered a "credit repair site"

I thought I was doing a good deed helping someone but I guess the MODS at myfico really hate creditboards and don't want myfico members to know about this wonderful community.

I think you just committed the cardinal sin of sharing information between rival websites. Might not be a biggie to you or the mods here, but sometimes sites don't want you giving anybody incentive to stray away from their own site.

If you think this was bad, I used to belong to another forum and every time their rival forum name was typed in, it was simply changed to "Nope". You'd get banned too. The site owner had hundreds of bans in the time I was there.

Yea I got the message loud and clear from mod fused who banned me that they don't like CB. I think I commented on one or a couple of your posts there. smile.gif You'd think fused would have at least sent me a private message saying to not post any links to CB or be faced with permanent ban. It's not like I had just joined the site or was spamming. I have been contributing for months and became an established contributor.

I'm sure you have...I post over there pretty frequently.

Have you been able to get in contact with Fused or anybody else there to explain the hard line reaction to you?

This made me laugh. I work for one of FW's competitors and we don't ban people for posting links to their site or mentioning that the deal was taken from another deal/freebie board. We know we aren't the only in cyberspace.

I got a slap on the wrist last night at MyFICO for mentioning/quoting a cliff notes version of some tax stuff and not linking to my source. I told the Mod I'm not looking for a ban and that's why I didn't link. If you don't link you won't get banned.

I like CB but sometimes when I need a quick response I post in MF. No offense to anyone here, I've gotten more direct and non-marshmellow fluff advice here.

+1. I only belong to 3 message boards: CB, Gardenweb, and TWOP.

CB is the one stop shop for all things credit.

My guess on the reason they are so strict is probably because the website is owned by Fair Issac Corp, and they have to be careful not to be seen as promoting the manipulation of credit reports and scores that are generated by their formulas, especially because they are the standard of the industry. I don't necessarily agree with their policy, but I can certainly understand it.

Exactly so. I'm actually surprised at the degree they allow discussions of things such as PFD and adding AUs. Arguably, these are purely manipulative of FICO scoring in most all cases. OTOH, adding secured cards to start off, disputing incorrectly reported baddies, etc. are pretty legitimate.

Since many of FICO's customers are JDBs that heavily use various FICO products the more aggressive tactics found outside of MyFICO would not be congruent with their interest in servicing this customer segment.

I am intrigued by the macro version of Heisenberg's uncertainty principle that awareness of credit scoring alters the validity of the data. FICO's corporate stance is that knowledge of credit scoring helps excellent credit risk folks stay credit healthy while doing little to alter the value of scores overall. I'd like to see some good research papers about this. It's an interesting dynamic not unlike how casinos view books on blackjack strategy. There's a reason why every casino gift shop has "how to win" gambling books.

As for usefulness, CB has a wider range of information and most likely reflects a greater mix of interests and backgrounds of posters. MyFICO has more info about FICO generations, scores, algorithms, and such.
