Have not had responses yet from the CRAs from the HIPAAS, but in checking EQ today, the one that WAS listed at $175 (that I had the EOB for) is now showing $10 due (the co-pay, made at time of visit, but I don't have the proof of that handy). I'm thinking I should just send the $10 with insert A to the OC on that one?

The other one was showing updated in Feb, still with the full amount due of $100, even though I've never received any responses to my letters from them. Again, I'm thinking I should just insert A that one, too, just to get it off once and for all?

Have you received ANYTHING from ANYONE that would document a current business relationship between the OC and the reporting CA????

I'm sorry, I had responded, but I guess my computer shut down mid-stream. For the $100 one, it is a different provider, one whom I've never heard of, but is from the area I used to live. It is on EX and EQ. I have received a letter from the CA indicating they have confirmed it to be mine and if I need more info, I have to sign the form they sent me giving permission for them to access my PHR. Um, heck NO. I have written the OC, but have not received anything from them at all. For $100, I think it's worth my sanity to just insert A that one as well.

BTW, EQ's response to my final HIPAA to them came back "verified", so I'm not making any headway that way. EX is still showing it on theirs as well.

OK, you csn go ahead with the payment with insert "a". Make sure you follow all the instructions. Be prepared to have to use the follow up letters.

OK, so the $100 payment cleared (and I got the green card), do I give them a chance to pull the CA off EX and EQ or do I go ahead and fire off the follow up letters? And, I have the green card back on the $10, but that payment has NOT cleared as of yet. Wait until it does clear or go ahead with the follow ups? Include copies of the green cards/proof of payment or just the letter?

THANK YOU. There is a light at the end of this tunnel.

Send the follow up letters.

Getting your reports cleared of these accounts and NOT having them showing as "paid" collections is well worth the time and postage investment.

Woo-hoo! $100 collection GONE from EX without the follow up letter. It is still showing on EQ, so I'm sure that will fall off soon.

The $10 one still hasn't cleared the funds, nor have I had any communication from the OC, so sending the follow-ups on that one. Question: do I include copies of the payment/green card to the CRA or just the text of the letter?

I am still left with one medical collection on TU for $733 that I have yet to be able to sort out from the micro-printout the CA sent me way back when. The above $10 account was originally $175 and included in that hot mess, so I have no idea where to go next for it. It is due to fall off 6/13, so I may just have to suck it up and live with it. I still have a paid state tax lien that I have to live with for a few more years, so I don't know how much the collection is really hurting at this point.

You are STILL not following the instructions, there is a REDISPUTE letter posted ( after insert "c") there would be NO "green card" to send as THAT is sent to the CRA with a copy of the medical DV

If you are sending the follow up HIPAA letter AFTER paying with insert "a" then you follow the instructions that are posted in the program ( following insert "c")

1-

Make sure any money order has been deposited ,or you have received a return receipt from your letter if insert "b" or "c" were used.

2-

Send the follow up letter posted below.

3-

Send a copy of the follow up letter to the OC (legal dept) with the cover letter,(follows letter to CRA)

However, you should probably wait a bit until your pending "re-dispute" with any CRA has cleared before sending out any more disputes.

$733 collection on TU *poof* gone!

Got a letter from the CA for the $100 one that was already gone from EX that they would be removing it, but it is still on EQ as is the $10 that I paid (from the same CA as the $733). Trying to remain patient as I know those will come off and I will finally be collection free!

Thank you, WhyChat, for the hand-holding and butt-kicking along the way. I started with 14 medical collections 6 months ago and am about to be freeeeeee!

THANK YOU. There are no words to express my gratitude. The last collection came off today after a 6 month process. Slow and steady (and following the directions!) wins the race. My children and I thank you, our home is closer and closer thanks to your support.
