I hope he knew the guy somehow. Maybe they fought at the fair or something. I read that the victim worked at a fair or something. That would be a better ending then he just started killing someone he never even knew. Not that any of it is "better". But you know what I mean. :P

I dunno ... I read a couple of accounts ... one said that the two had been talking when the bus stopped and they were smoking cigarettes. The guy wasn't upset or anything ... and he hadn't been sitting next to the victim until just before this happened, when he changed seats.

When it comes to backing off someone with a weapon and maybe not going home to MY family, or helping a perfect stranger by pulling an attacker of them and maybe dying, I guess you can say I'm a bad person, because I'm going to choose going home to my family every time. What good am I to the people who matter to me the most if I'm dead because I chose to get involved in a fight that wasn't mine, when I wasn't armed and the other person was?

ETA: And I heard the weapon was the size of a butcher knife, though the account didn't specifically say it was a butcher knife. The whole bus was supposedly bloody though ...

Maybe the victim made a pass at the attacker or something. Remember that happened with those two guests on the Jenny Jones show a few years back.

Pretty extreme response though if that were the case.

Yuck. Obviously something set the guy off or he was just plain crazy.

I read that too. Also, he was holding the head up and displaying it.

My God.

A few of the guys went back onto the bus to help the guy, but after seeing his decapitated head being displayed and the murderer eating his flesh...........I really can't blame them for turning around and trying to lock the murderer on the bus.

It is like walking into a scene out of Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

+1

I traveled through that part of Canada about 4 years ago. It is very desolate for miles with nothing around. It really is like something out of a horror movie.

I like to think that I'm a big burly brave soul and I can honestly say that if I were witness to the stabbing before the victim was dead, I would absolutely go and try to save him. However, if I had jumped into the scenario during the "eating of the evidence" phase, I would make for the door stat!

Ditto. I am 100% for getting involved and trying to help people, and would like to think that I would have tried to help as he was still alive/screaming. But I know I would have taken off as fast as my legs would carry me once I saw the decapitation/eating portion of the attack. Oh god - how awful for the victim and his family.

un real. SO and I were talking about this last night.

I wanna know why anyone didn't try and stop the guy....Odd at best.

I know I personally wouldn't have tried to stop the guy...I wouldn't want the same fate to befall upon me.
