Sooooo much better.

I don't know if it was just that particular drug, or The Steroid, or what, but she's totally fine now. Freakshow.

I can't get her to leave the house without these goggles. I don't know what she's doing, besides wrecking her sister's lives...

....since that was taken, a week ago, all that puffy fuzzy hair? Gone. Just.that.fast.

She is adorable. I love that pink dress!

She is (and your family) always in my prayers.

About the goggles: my grandkids kind of went through a phase like that at her age. This too shall pass...lol

Nine freaking hours at the infusion center. Intrathecal chemo (direct into spinal fluid via lumbar puncture), 4 other drugs.

She's got appointments every day for two weeks.

Delayed Intensification indeed. :(

Gabby has been on my mind a lot since yesterday afternoon. (and still in my prayers for a quick and full recovery)

How is she doing? I hope all is going well for her (and your family).

I just haven't been able to stop thinking about her, so I wanted to ask.

It's hard to explain, because it's so relative.

She is having a little bit of a tough time with this chemo cycle. Her counts have been down most of the last few weeks. She needed a platelet and red blood cell transfusion the other day.... Luckily just one unit each  She's been tired, she had some mouth sores, general crankiness.

But all that said, these are extremely mild side-effects. So many worse things could be happening. I feel bad complaining, because all of the other parents I've talked to had much harder times.

Because her counts have been low, it pushes her maintenance cycle back too far to start school again in the fall. Sigh.

But she's doing great. In good spirits all the time (when she's not being bossy ;)). She never, ever complains about treatment.

Thanks for asking :).

I'm pissy.

Gab's counts have been all jacked up. She can't go out. We can't have anyone over. It's delayed the next stage of chemo.

Plus, there's another cycle before maintenance that I wasn't aware of. It's another 57 days, without taking into account any delays for low counts. Every time she's low, it puts everything off for a week. A week doesn't seem like a huge deal until you're counting down the weeks until she gets to be a freaking kid again and stop going to stupid infusion centers all the time.

Bleh. Eff you, leukemia. I'm done with you.

If good thoughts are any use you have all of mine tonight.

I don't have cancer, but I have an illness that required chemo drugs, and transfusions and would have killed for a mom like you. Just knowing you are loved, and that family is there with you is such a blessing.

I'll be thinking about you and your whole family. P.S.: Love the goggles! She's quite the little fashion maven.

What a courageous young girl. I wish you and her the best of luck. I will pray for you as well.
