Ever since attending school, I have hardly been victims to bullies. However, I did deal with jerks who have tried to steal things from me, put ketchup on my shirt, or even try spitting on me. I have also seen stuff on the news about kids being bullied, even adults, such as bus drivers, being bullied by kids! Gruesome, isn't it?

For all those parents who have kids being bullied, I'm here to answer any question or problem they might have in helping their kids deal with bullies.

I have the answer for you: Stand up to a bully! It doesn't take a community to deal with a miscreant, it takes individual courage.

Okay, Echo_X, how's this? You draw the bully, make him/her all cutesy like and display on the web so that when others recognize them, that bully will be a laughingstock so hard that he'll never want to push anyone around again.

did you have on your protective hat or were you licking the short yellow bus windows right before you were bullied?? how did you handle it?

In ninth grade, for example, after getting ketchup put on my shirt, I chased down the little twerp responsible. Man, was he afraid of me! The next day, he gave me a quarter, presumbly to show his apology. He didn't mess with me again after that.

When it came to bullies, I mainly stayed away from them unless they tried to challenge me. When they teased me and called me names, I just ignored them.

I do, MarvBear. If you see a spider, whether outside or inside, stay away from it, unless it's a black widow, a chartreuse, fiddle-back, or a very HUGE ONE! For the black widows, chartreuses, fiddlebacks, and the huge ones, if they're outside, leave them alone; but, if they happen to be inside the house, kill them if you can!

Twice last summer of 2012, I have encountered spiders in my 1990 red Taurus, one came out of nowhere one late afternoon. I didn't know what it was, so I killed it. Early in the morning on my way home from dropping my sister off at work, I saw one sliding down the web in front of me! For cars, the best thing to do is spray some poison on the floors and seats, that way, you face less risk of facing spiders or other insects while driving. And, try to not to leave your car outside the garage.

I am a firm supporter of bullying. Too many kids growing up to be milky-lickers and namby-pambiers (pronounced in a Frenchified manner). A little smacking around will do them worlds of good.

Do you think you could give me advice on my relationships, work and investing for retirement?

I also have an ingrown toenail. What can I do about that?

The only sure cure for having spiders in the car is to push your car into a lake to make sure they all drown. Then buy a new car.

Well, LKH, I don't much about retirement, but for relationships and work, I can give you some advice. For your relationships, make sure your friends are people you can truly trust and don't do things that can cause your relationships to go down several notches, and if you can, try to visit your friends every now and then. For work, make sure you're organized, keep your ideas to yourself, and make sure the salary is enough to pay your bills and taxes. I hope this helps.

What about the ingrown toenail?

For an ingrown toenail, LKH, I've never experienced that. Angeleyes, you've actually got a point about not keeping ideas to yourself. What I really meant was to keep them to yourself until you've completed those ideas.

Why keep your ideas to yourself? Depending on the work environment, producing new, innovative ideas can mean a promotion

So true. Ideas are free. Sharing ideas with others makes everyone more productive and work more fun. Aim to be a "low maintenance" but productive employee and you will be appreciated and hopefully rewarded. Try to be worth more than you are paid. You want to increase both value and pay but the differential is what gives you flexibility and that gets your ideas listened too more seriously. If you and your employer are not both happy it's time to move on.
