Some people have shown that the bankruptcy was filed and discharged and even though debt was not included in the BK< chexsystems did remove it. I would not bring it to their attention that it was not included but rather just send them something requesting removal and showing that there was a bankruptcy.

Thanks MCA... It was actually for my DH... I disputed and they responded back... They stated they confirmed with bankruptcy courts... and its deleted... LOL... Do they actually confirm with the courts or with a credit report???

 

No matter... its deleted :lol:

That is great news. I am not sure who they confirmed with if they really did at all. Did you only send in a letter or did you send in something that shows the BK was filed?

I faxed in a dispute stating I filed BK... I didnt have the information in front of me so I basically sent it in just sayingI filed Ch 7 and the month/year. they responded via mail stating they verified my BK with date and BK# saying they deleted the account...

I faxed them a dispute yesterday but I am trying to slide under a deadline to get into a CU and need them to delete asap. I wonder if calling to follow up would help??

It is almost impossible to reach someone at chexsystems... this might help you,. The number is ( 800) 513-7125 and after you choose the option to hear the message in English, press option #7 and you WILL be connected to a live person. After you hit #7, you get a long message pertaining to if you have your report on hand, it then sounds like you might have been disconnected, but you aren't, it rings and then you are connected.

Thanks. After making my last post, I searched for and found the number you are talking about. I called and talked to a csr and he gave me the direct number to the BK department. It is (800) 934-5458. I called and spoke to one of the BK csr's. She stated that I would need to fax over the document I received when I filed (didn't have to wait for discharge papers).

 

I did this and then called back a few hours later to verify that they received my fax. The csr told me that faxes are first distributed to the applicable department, then queued in the order in which they are received. I told her that I wasn't trying to rush them, just wanted to ensure that they received it. She then stated that the only way their search returns a result is if the fax has been worked on because when it comes up in queue, it is worked on immediately, thus noting it as received and completed at the same time. She said it could take 7-10 days to even be able to tell me if they got it, but the "good" news is they will be able to also tell me that it's done :clapping: . She told me to call back and check in so that I could get the CU to re run the chex report.

 

Just posting this for informations' sake. Once they tell me it's done, I will update here...

Yes, I asked if they had a direct fax and the csr said no, that everything comes through that one fax number, then it is routed to the applicable department, then place in queue.

Just to update....I called every single day after faxing the BK info, and they kept telling me that they couldn't pull my fax up b/c it hadn't been worked on yet. I dealt with very nice CSR's up until yesterday when I got a very rude one. I got upset with her and then asked to speak to a supervisor (I'm so mad at myself for not doing so earlier), and told her the situation, I'd been denied to get into a CU based on Chex, and everything on the Chex report had been included in the BK and I know it only takes a few moments to delete everything, yada yada.

 

Well she ended up asking my BK case number, court, etc and deleted it while on the phone with me while telling me that she was expediting it. She said give the system 24 hours to update and I could call back in to follow up. I called this morning and everything has been deleted!!! I am very happy, just wish I wouldv'e escalated it sooner.

Does anyone have a sample/draft of a letter they used that was successful. I'm planning on typing something up tonight and faxing it over in the morning then calling them to have to check the fax machine.

I filed bankruptcy but later decided not to go through with it. Once it was filed and I received a case number I sent it to chexsystems and telecheck and they both cleared my account within 48 hours. I was able to open a new bank account immediately with no problem. In addition, I had another bank account that charged off about 8 months later and it didn't hit my chexsystems or telecheck. Apparently chexsystems doesn't allow anything to hit your file once you file bankruptcy.

For those that send information (discharge papers) via USPS....It takes ChexSystems over 10 days to process to the correct department & even acknowledge receipt of the paperwork. In this case, Fax is better and quicker as well.
