[Updated] Automatic counting of inquiries for B*

Good question. I'm locked out of the EQ backdoor currently, and too afraid to try again because I don't want any early C* this month. I use EQ complete to get my soft inquiries, but maybe someone with access to the EQ backdoor could give you some info. If I remember correctly, you just click on "Inquiries in the Last 2 Years" and they're under your hard inquiries.

OMG: Does the backdoor graduate you from C* to C*-squared?

Supposedly it can. I've never had it happen personally, but it's a possibility.

Sorry, after this post, I stopped BD, so I can't offer data for TU. I think the BD got me on EQ double-chop. Did a dumb thing in disputing an inq, then discovered B* and starting B* while the dispute was open.

So I currently have 13 hard inquiries (oldest is 6/8/2010). I would add hard inquiries + soft inquiries (58 total)? And the magic number I'm looking for is 85 when I should see B* as long as C* does not occur first? Is that correct?

Any progress being made on the TU counter? I love the EQ tool and have pretty much figured out how to count them. Not a lot of people want to talk about TU.

Unless your reports are completely clean I wouldn't worry about B* as a newbie. Afterall 10 inq's is the same as 100 inq's and the boost your score will get from removing inq's is minimal compared to removing negatives. Goodluck

Three recent inquiries were removed off of my transunion. Does that mean I'm bumping them off and didn't realize it? Also what company is Mcm? I'd like to start getting my reports from them. I get my credit reports daily from usaa, credit karma, and truecredit.

Are you putting a TAB between the name of the puller and the first date?

Thanks TideHigh for doing the count for me, but I do understand how to count them FINALLY....lol. I just wanted to make sure of the process. I used to copy and paste into notepad and then place in counter and it would do its magic. However, most recently, it is saying that I only have 9 softs. So, I was thinking that either there is a problem with the count or my copy/paste process.

I counted 73 good softs with 1 more possible but not certain if it actually helps. The EQUIFAX don't count which is evident by the amount of softs putting you over the magic number

okay, thanks fusion. At one point they did count, but I guess EQ must have changed something on the backend. Dang, I was looking forward to seeing something fall this week. So, hopefully, I can get some B* before C*.

I have EQ Complete....but don't see how to get my soft inquiries from there. The only way I've seen to get them is to start an online dispute and grab them that way - is there a way to get them through the EQ complete service?

Also, what are the four services I can use to get a daily pull a day against EQ?

BTW...that counter works really well. thank you for posting!

alright...I found the soft inquiries on EC. I'm going with the following to get daily pulls on EQ:

I've been getting b* on EQ for the past 4 days. I had 57 soft and 38 hards and they started dropping monday. I'm down to 29 hard today. Hopefully I can get all of 2010 and 2011 off before the 23rd. I'm only pulling 3, EC, EIT and USAA. I was thinking about adding in some more to get more out before C*.

EQUIFAX softs don't count for most people (maybe all people by now, they stopped counting for me in March and I was one of the last). They definitely aren't counting for you, and they put you at risk for C*, so you should stop the backdoors.

Except for that just keep doing what you're doing. If your hards are older than all your softs you're about to start dropping 1 per day. If your good softs are older you will lose them first (first in, first out, doesn't matter whether they're soft or hard).

For a better count, try deleting all the EQUIFAX inqs from the counter. None of the prefixed ones count either but the counter will skip them. The Fair Isaac ones may or may not, it's not (quite) an exact science because the rules keep shifting.

Thanks. I had been backdooring Equifax because of an issue with them where they were reporting blatantly incorrectly and was checking up on them to see when it truly updated. They've since fixed the issue so I will stop that. I signed up for Equifax Complete but can't find where to go to see the soft inquiries. I only see hard inquiries. Where do I find this?
