I was wondering if anyone here that has rec'd a "blank check" from Cap1 ever had Cap1 check up on it with their employer. Do they always verify income and employment with the employer that you put down? Thanks

Good question! I don't have any personal experience with Cap One but many auto loans over many years and i don't recall every having to provide income verifications. All you got to do is call Cap One and inquire. I do know they have a minimum income requirement of $1800.00 a month but that may be reported income. If you find out let us know.

Yep, they do verify.

I wasn't eligible for the check. I went to the dealer. They got me financed thru Crap 1 and asked for 2 current paystubs. I brought 1 with me, had to use their computer to print another. We use The Work Number for employment verification but they wanted stubs.

This was last Aug.

Thank you Snowpuppy. So, it sounds like they don't actually call and verify with the employer, they just want written evidence and that is good enough. My company has a number that I am supposed to give out, but it goes to a 3rd party payroll company. I didn't want Cap1 to call them because they don't respond very fast. I want to get this vehicle today.

Cap1 didn't ask for income verification or my employer phone number when I was approved last year. Perhaps their blank check employer verification kicks in over a certain loan amount. Mine was for $12000.
