Dubai First Royale MasterCard

For those wanting to show their worth in more ways than one, then there’s no other option but to aim for the diamond-encrusted, gold-plated Dubai First Royale Mastercard. The catch is you’ve got to be living in Dubai. The rather flashy card was introduced on to the market in 2008, when Dubai was at its peak financially. The select group chosen to have one of these cards has to possess very specific criteria in terms of social standing and profile, and are allowed unlimited spending. Manufacturing the handcrafted card is a delicate process, with only nine cards being produced in a day. There are thought to be less than 200 holders of this diamond-studded card.

American Express Centurion Card

Available by invitation only, The Centurion Card is the world’s rarest American Express Card and confers a level of service that can be extended only to selected individuals worldwide. he average household income, according to Journal International, is $940,000 and the average total net worth of holders is $6.5 million, with a disposable monthly income of $12,700. Carriers of the titanium card are charged a sign up fee of $5,000 and pay $2,500 annually for the privilege of having privileges.

The Krungthai Card

If diamonds appeal but you’re not yet ready to move to Dubai to sate your appetite for sparkles, maybe you could seek out the Krungthai Card, which is decorated with 0.06g carat diamonds and 6 carat gold. Launched through Thai Airlines in cooperation with Mastercard, this card ensures first class service on Thai Airlines and offers a number of travel benefits, including free upgrades, access to VIP lounges, discount hotel rates and emergency medical assistance when travelling. Like the other exclusive cards, holders can also partake of the personal concierge service affiliated to the card, and membership is by invite only.

Visa Infinite

Not available in the US. By invitation only. The perks offered through the Infinite card include travel insurance, car insurance, a personal concierge service and travel points that can be redeemed either through airlines or hotels.

Visa Black Card

With a 24-hour concierge service dedicated to fulfilling the cardholder’s every whim, Visa’s Black Card holders are offered assistance with their business, personal and travel needs. Holders are granted VIP access to various airport lounges worldwide, and can redeem points for 1% cash back or airfare on any airline of their choosing. Unlike the outrageously high annual fee of the Centurion Card, Visa keeps it real with an annual fee of just $495 a year and even offers a low introductory rate for the first six months.

This card is only available to Coutt’s clients who have at least $1,000,000 in the bank. The annual fee is £350 but that’s waived for customers that charge at least £50,000 per year on the card.

the "Visa Black Card" is a POS IMHO.

Palladium has been better than Amex Platinum in my experiences thus far.

what about the Stratus "white" card? $1500 annual fee so it must be prestigious

The card doesn't make the man, boys........ :dntknw:

I find such high end cards to be pretentious. I'm unimpressed with a man who pulls out a Platinum or Palladium card. I think that he's trying toooooooooo hard to impress and is more of an salamander for shelling out several hundred/year.

It's not flattering to flaunt one's insecurity by flashing a bankroll or some glitzy cards. Perhaps some girls find such displays attractive, but many of us see through them for what they are. JMHO..........

I got to scan my very old Circus Circus city ledger credit card I got from their Las Vegas hotel. It's no longer offered but is a pink card with clowns on it. That's prestigious enough for me. ;)

B) I sorta agree with you, but do we also judge the guy with the Cap1 card paying for a round of drinks for his frinds/family. I witnessed this yesterday while at one of my favorite restaurant/bar establishments. I stood there next to him with my AmxPlat tucked under my arm pit with arms folded and could not help but to wonder -What is his situation?- , but never once did I judge, so why do we do it to people with High-End credit cards?

I have a good friend with an AmxBlk aka American Express Centurion Card and we talked about it once in brief and it was never brough up again and I've never seen him as being "pretentious" nor do I consider the card pretentious. The card works for his lifestyle(McDonalds Onwer). Maybe we should all just pay attention to what's in our own wallets and stop rubber necking into other folks wallets and purses and that includes me as well :glare: I think reading this board can make one pretentious!! I think your comments display your envy

keep in mind that some folks have this strange, immature idea that someone who has an amex platinum card is trying to impress a "girl" as opposed to obtaining rewards and services from a creditor that he or she values. this same type of logic applies to those who think someone drives a particular car because he or she is trying to show off as opposed to getting from point A to point B without breaking down.

+1 Had a similar conversation with my father about paying what he considers to be an absurd AF for an Amex card. Then I told him how many airline miles I'd earned. When I hand my plat to a cashier it's just another card, another alternative to cash. Nobody cares, and if they do then perhaps that's as much their issue. Sure a diamond studded card seems like a bit of egotistical overkill, but it's still just a card. Is it a useful tool or a vanity item? If it's purely for show then that's your issue and/or inferiority/superiority complex. But a card does not necessarily make or even reflect on a person. People seem to get a bit too worked up over these things sometimes. It's the same sort of skin deep mentality that inhibits a potential for closer relationships between humans in general. But I digress. If it helps you to achieve some worthwhile goal that seems practical for me, if not then do what you want, won't phase me either way. On a side note the palladium card is a good investment just by virtue of its market value. Of course that value can be easily manipulated given just how much of the metal JP Morgan owns.

That having been said, it's also easy to be suckered/sell yourself on the idea of living beyond your means. Which we all know isn't the wisest path. It is energy much better spent pushing forward.

Sometimes taking a step back and looking at the bigger picture is a much better way to achieve whatever goal you may have with credit, or otherwise. Patience often yields the greater benefit to instant gratification. Then again if you're wealthy... And there are many forms/degrees of wealth, each to their own // It'd be nice to see a charity reward card out there somewhere and, I bet they could make it pretty.

Example resemption 100 mil MR ---> training for 100 new jobs for the disenfranchised.

200 mil, send 5 kids from a poor neighborhood to college.

Etc.

Exactly! Cars are another great example, but at least with a high-end credit card you appear to be more responsible with your finances and knowledgeable of reward and the benefits of using it, but driving a high-end cars these days really doesn't paint an honest picture. I have buddy who fits that profile of the guy with the expen$sive autos, bad credit, highest interest rates, repo’s etc... but horrible finances but I'll spare you the details. I agree Hegemony....that strange immature idea of someone with high-end cards that want to show off. :swoon:

I think it's pure envy, but that’s my opinion

Sorry for the rants OP(Knight), but to answer your question. I think the most prestigous card is the one that pays you back for using it. The wife and I reap the most from her AMXGold Prem and my AmxPlat.

LOL. Toyota and Honda sedans have much, much better reliability than most Mercedes.

Having gone from Honda to Toyota to Lexus (higher priced/branded Toyotas) over the last 30 years with only one repair outside of normal maintainence, I am damned happy with their reliability. But I am also spoiled by the radar cruise control and all the other safety and driving facilitating goodies on their luxury models.

*raises hand* Didnt someone say a JP Morgan Palladium card was better than an AMEX Centurion? I could be wrong, but..

As to the cars thing, no comment. "People like what they like."

but why even express your insecurity by driving a honda or toyota? I guess some people are impressed with a honda or toyota but for me I'll stick with my 1993 Ford Tempo.

I love my toys, and the Palladium is just another one of them! On a side note, im going on a trip in 2 weeks that Ultimate Rewards paid $1400 towards!

sweet! where are you going?

I figure the AF on Pd is lower than some people pay for B*

besides, the service I've gotten from the concierge has saved me a lot of time tracking down tickets, etc.

I'm just going to Ft. Lauderdale. Staying at the Westin Beach Resort at the suggestion of the Pd Concierge. Yes, I have used the Concierge to get tickets and also send some flowers to a hospital. I asked if they could upgrade the romm at the Westin for me since they have a relationship with them. They could not right now but possibly at the time of check-in. So I called the Westin myself and the lady who answered the phone told me she would upgrade to an oceant front room if I signed up for the SPG rewards at no cost. So that was good. I love the card and the benefits alot of people cant see, lol. I tried to PM you on any hidden tradeline cards but it said you were not taking anymore messages, lol.
