3Sallie Mae loans transferred to another lender

After college I was in a serious accident where I did not work for 3 years due to surgeries. I lost track of everything and it included these 3 loans. Are thy allowed to transfer them. What is the best way to get them off the report. Right now I am deferring payments on over $40,000 because the monthly payment is over $450. I cannot afford that. Should I try to go to one of the consolidating agencies spoken about in other threads or am I not eligable becuse they are all under one lender now ACS/Suntrust?

If these are in fact federal loans you should consolidate with the Direct Loan Consolidation program.

 

Quick question. Why? Can you consolidate the loans and get the old loans (that are closed) removed from your credit report?
