Update:

The EQ counter will now allow you to enter in the date of your oldest hard inquiry and tell you approximately how many softs are older than it. I say approximately because softs/hards on the same day will not be included, since it will depend on the actual TIME they are recorded, which isn't presented.

So, for EQ, the B* formula looks something like this:

((85 - (Total Softs That Count + Total Hards)) + Softs Older Than Oldest Hard) = Number of pulls needed to B* next hard.

Don't have this ready for TU yet, but I'm working on it.

Still trying to find out where to get the "inquiries report text". I'll look for a sticky...

Hi, I'm guessing you don't have a list of your soft inquiries to copy and paste into the counter. If this is accurate, you'd have to get that by getting access to your credit report online at transunion or equifax's respective websites. Perhaps you have been denied credit recently? Or need to file an online dispute due to something on one of your reports being wrong? If so, you can use their online forms to view your report for free one time and copy the list while you're there. Hope that helps!

As many as 68 (depending on your oldest hard)

JDS-

The application isn't counting Intersections non prefixed soft pulls. These softs count toward B*. When you pull from BOA privacy assist complete it places a soft on the prefixed and the non prefixed count, only the non prefixed counts.

Don't have this ready for TU yet, but I'm working on it.

Mine says Soft Inquiries: 50 (~ -1 older than oldest hard inquiry) (Possible C* Detected)

Does that mean I have 50 to go til a bump or that its 50 softs right now?

I'm counting 67 or something, and the counter is counting 50. Which of these doesn't count for b*?

I took the time to write two web apps to automatically count soft inquiries that actually count towards B*. There is one page for EQ, and one page for TU. The EQ page takes into account some of the oddities with EQ (echo inquiries that don't count, etc). All you have to do is paste the text of the soft inquiries on your report and click a button. It does the counting for you.

EQ Soft Count

TU Soft Count

Note: I purposely did not include a lot of direct information on the pages themselves as to WHY people would want to count these inquiries.

If you have problems or ideas, email me at the address listed on the page, or PM me here.

I hope you find them useful!

Thanks for the post.

Hi guys, Im a newbie. Nice to join this forum.

Im using CCT only...

Then only the softs from CCT count. You only count the times that YOU create a record of a soft pull on your credit by pulling a report with a service like CCT, MPM, USAACCMP, MyFico, CS, CK, MCK, etc. None of the other pulls from EQ or insurance or whatever count toward B*.

What's the best puller to supplement my CCT with? I don't have an Amex and am not eligible to join USAA.
