Very weird.

I have been checking the where's my stimulus thing like crazy, always using dh's ss# because he is first on the return. Kept getting the 'sorry' message. His SS # ends in 95.

Decided to try mine, and it showed up saying it will be deposited on the 16th.

So if you are still getting the error and filed joint, try the other ss#.

I just tried to call the IRS and it said that due to brief technical difficulties they were unable to take my call. What is up with that? I still get the error. I really need to be stimulated for my electric bill.

We are sorry. Specific information about your Stimulus Payment is not available.

Possible reasons include:

* Your payment may still be coming, but has not yet been sent. Information will be available here as payments are sent based on the last two digits of the primary SSN shown on your 2007 tax return. Specific information about your Stimulus Payment will not be available until about one week before your payment is scheduled to be sent. See the complete Payment Schedule below for more information.

* Filing and/or preparation fees were deducted from your refund or you received a rapid refund from your preparer. You will be receiving a check instead of a direct deposit. Please see the Paper Check Payment Schedule below.

* You did not file a tax return for 2007 or your return is still being processed. Additional information about filing requirements is available.

* The information entered did not match our records. Be sure to check the information you entered. You may Re-Enter your information as necessary.

Remember, to qualify for the Stimulus Payment, you must meet the eligibility requirements. Please allow 6 weeks after filing your tax return before checking on the status of your Stimulus Payment.

Thats what I get from IRS. :D

After weeks of error messages, today I finally got "to be DD by May 16th". I am #97 and used taxactonline.

Did you pay your fees out of your refund? I used TaxAct too, and may be waiting for a paper check instead.

For anyone still getting errors:

Mine updated around 9:45 a.m. MDT. You might want to try calling the 1-866-234-2942 to get the status of your rebate. I was finally able to get through and I am schedule for DD on 5/15/08.

The federal filing was free. I paid for state by Debit but I guess that has no bearing. I also went by to my old statement to check how the federal refund deposit came in back in March and it read "US Treasury" as my depositor.

Hope that helps. Good luck!

Ok, we finally have something other than an error message on the stimulus page. it says we get $1500. I guess they are taking my $600 out of our rebate for my student loans that are in rehab? hmmm interesting since we were told we would only get $1050 instead of $2100.

It tells us that we are going to have the check mailed on May 23rd. (98)

ETA: i called the rebate line and got the message that they can't take my call right now due to the call volume.

I called another line and it says that we only qualify for $1500 and some of that may be offset. How do we only qualify for $1500 when we have 3 kids (all under 4 years old) and DH and I are married. I don't work and we made WAY less than what would even disqualify us.

Just found my update:

Your total Stimulus payment was calculated as $2,100.00 and consists of the following:

Basic Amount: $1,200.00.

Qualifying Child Amount: $900.00 (Based on 3 qualifying children).

Your payment of $2,100.00 is scheduled to be deposited to your bank on May 16, 2008. If you do not receive the credit by May 21, 2008, please contact us again. We are unable to take any action until then

Still getting the "We're sorry" mssg. and nothing in the bank account. #28 , you'd think they'd have processed all of those by now. <_<

Sounds like you might be getting a paper check.

did you do the calculator? I did - and discovered we're only getting 600. 2 kids in college, so no $300 for them - and because we took the hope credit for tuition, which reduced our tax to 0, we only get 300 for DH and 300 for me. I'm even less impressed with this package than i was before... add in that US spouses and children of legal immigrants get nothing if they filed jointly makes this package is really bad.

One DD might get her $600 when she files taxes next yr...

Just checked the IRS website and finally got an answer instead of the error. It said mine is scheduled to be deposited on the 16th.

I filed and got my refund in Feb. and last two digits are 76.

I wonder why people with higher numbers got theirs today?

I filed mine in January.

I filed in February. I have yet to get mine. :(

ETA: I just checked online and it finally popped up saying we'll receive our DD on Friday, May 16. I guess instead of a birthday present (4/28) they decided to wait and give it as a graduation present (I graduate college on 4/16).

ETA2: cfj--if you owed no taxes net taxes and did not qualify for the Child Tax Credit, then you do not get the full 1200. We're in the same boat. We did not get the Child Tax Credit (we did get to take the full amount of the Additional Child Tax Credit though), so we only got $600 for DH and I plus the $300 for our daughter.

We owed no taxes. We DID qualify for the Child Tax Credit. This is just weird. Maybe we will be pleasantly suprised? lol. Maybe there is a mistake? Maybe they took the $600 that would constitute my part of the $1200 and are putting it toward my SL? It's all a guessing game.
