Does it really make a difference when you receive the money as long as you receive it?

 

It's only a small amount of money, not going to change anybodies life. If you really need it this month chances are you will really need it next month and the month after and so on.

I'm not trying to downplay the rebate and I am certainly no troll but I'm just surprised that people are so upset they have not gotten it yet, it's coming. And if you are needing that badly you have mich bigger problems then waiting for a small rebate check.

There are people here who need the money badly and yes, more than likely they do have bigger problems. However, the fact of the matter is..... Every little bit help, so some people may be anxious to get a little relief... albeit temporary, but still relief. Actually, I agree with you 100%. Sure, who would not enjoy some extra money, especially when it comes from Uncle Sam. I'm planning on putting approx 90% of my rebate when and if it comes into my ever growing emergency fund.

Yes maybe they will have the same problems later on but why can't they express their hurry to get it? Everyone here doesn't make a lot, or have a spouse that can cover them when they're down and out, some of us here are at or below poverty level. There are also some here that make 148K that are strapped for cash. No one here knows the others situation so if someone needs their cash they need it. For those that will get it when you get it fine, I know there are some here that would buy a pair of shoes for $1800 but there are others that will take that same $1800 and buy groceries, pay tuition, or send their kid to that summer camp that they've promised but really wasn't sure how they were going to do it.

Sorry if it's long winded it just irritates me that because something isn't important to some they feel it shouldn't be important to others either.

Cause it's just not going to! Have you noticed today's gas prices, grocery prices etc. $1800 is a band aid for a short period of time, it''s FAR from a life changer.

Cause it's just not going to! Have you noticed today's gas prices, grocery prices etc. $1800 is a band aid for a short period of time.

I can think back about 20 years ago when even $100 would have changed my life!! I literally had nothing to eat even though I was working. Waiting for that $100 an extra 4 weeks would have been brutal. But I always could have come a knockin' at your door right?

So the $100 comes, corrects your life for a week or 2, what happens 4 weeks later? Same position, no life change.

Spending 10K @ 1% would cost me $100, $100 for c/c protection is well worth it. Try dealing with a company in Europe that sold you a bad product when you paid with cash, good luck. C/C all the way!

I don't shop for goods in Europe.... At all. The costs of goods is ridiculous there. The most I would have is a bad double decker bus ride, credit card won't help me much with that

I don't know how it works in this instance: I put bank info on return for direct deposit even though I knew refund would be intercepted because I owed back taxes. Back taxes are now paid, wonder if stimulus will be direct deposit? I paid for TurboTax with credit card.
