Got brave in my old age...called and got a $500 on one card bringing it to $3500! :D

On the card that I've had for about 18 mos..

For the card that I have had since 6/2000, they declined...rep said he could only see activity since June -- WTH??? ended up with a supervisor who said I got a recent increase ($250 five mos ago for a grand total cl of 500) and that may be why they declined.

I had a lost card in June and it was replaced. Rep said he could only see history since june, but supervisor said she can see the entire history since 2000. They recently upgraded computers and she knows how to access the prior history, but some of the reps don't.

(I suspect they did not give me luv on this one is that it was the card from the BK7 reaffirmation -- I have charged monthly and paid well above the minimum since 2000. She said it is not because of my history -- I have excellent history on both cards. :D

Oh, well. A little luvin' is better than none.

Thanks CoCo!

Tried some holiday cheer with Discover - no dice. :D He said try back in a few months though and was super nice. Tomorrow I'll try for an APR decrease for 'good behavior.' I've been late and over the limit in the past, but not recently and am trying to get it paid down to under 50%. Right now it's at 90%. :D

They'll send you a form in the mail that you have to fill out and return. They'll pull a hard when they process it. I just gave them the finger and don't use their card anymore. Why use credit at 22% (although I don't carry a balance there, if I had a cash flow problem or something I might have to leave some on it one month) when I could use a card that's under 10%? Hell, even my Cap1 is better than that, and that's still at 19.8%, which I also never use.

Thanks for the heads up. Got a $500 increase. Cardholder since 2002. Pretty consistently have $0 balance because I only use the card every six months or so to keep them from closing for lack of activity. Now only if they'd report the full line of credit to the bureaus...

Well, no hoilday cheer for me. I called to request a CLI and they said there are no offers available on my card. I have never been late, never over the limit. I have been good and still nothing.

I've had the card since 2002 and a CL of $600

It is time to close and get rid of Crap one

 I don't believe after all most two years of having the card I finally got a CLI.

It's only $300 but that helps.

I am excited. Hopefully, I can get some luv from State Farm, Wally World, and Target as well.

He asked if I wanted him to do a more in-depth research and I said no because it would put an inq on my credit and I didn't want that. So I will not be asking for a hard, especially when they pulled one on all 3 bureaus in April for 1 30DL.

This is my longest standing credit account - I opened it shortly after I turned 18 3 years ago, so I want to keep it around for age purposes. But I doubt I will use it once it's PIF unless they knock the interest down a LOT.

Had card for 3+ years, $4000 limit, never had gotten a CLI.

Called, got an additional $300...big whoop.

That being said I am using a low interest for life BT that I pay the minimum on since I opened the card. Maybe you need more activity to be a higher CLI.

$300 isn't much, but hey, better than nothing!

$300 IS $300 MORE THAN I GOT FROM MBNA FOR 11+ YEARS

Call yesterday afternoon and got a $500 cli on a Platinum cc I have had for 17 months B) . Transfer me to another dept for Lowe's Visa and would not give a cli.

Hey with Cap 1 $500 is a decent cli.

Has anyone been able to get their APR reduced or annual fee waived? If so, what did you say to them? I was able to get a total of $1,500 CLI yesterday, but would like to get better rates as well. I currently have an annual fee of $39 on all 3 of them and APR's from 19 to 22%.

Earlier this year I called and told them I was calling to ask that they waive the annual fee and reduce the APR. They asked if I would be using the card more if they did. I told them only if they were to waive the fee, and give me a decent BT offer and APR. They complied. Permanently waived the fee. Gave me a 5.9 BT for life and reduced the APR to 9.9%. I realize there are better rates out there, but for CAP1, can't complain. So, I BTed a not too great amt onto it and will have them pd off probably Jan. Just waiting to get the holiday shopping behind me bef I PIF. Haven't put any purchases on it.

Well I just called and asked about the ARP and the fee and they told me they will need to do a proactive review of my accounts, which I guess is just basically watching them for awhile to see what happens. I guess they don't have any offers at this time. I have a perfect history with them - never late, have had the cards for awhile, actually do use them some, usually pay off the balance in full. They told me to call back in a couple of months and they would probably be able to offer some changes then. Has anyone had this happen? And what should I do about it - just wait?

Thanks!

Glad I decided to try this! $500 CLI increase, and the woman said to call tomorrow and they will lower my interest rate from 22% to 14%. She said they can only do one account alteration at a time?

Good job CapOne, I now hate you slightly less =)

Called back, said the CSR I spoke with earlier was incorrect. Apparently only one alteration can be done per account review, not per day. Not sure who's telling the truth here, but regardless, I was denied the APR decrease.

Honestly, since I PIF this card, I would rather have them get rid of my damn annual fee. I would just ditch em, but they are one of my oldest.

No luck with Crap 1 for me. After 3 years with them with no late payment and excellent payment history (according to the SR), and they still wouldn't give me a CLI. My CL is still remained at 500.
