I think this is the information you are looking for...........

Did you know that when you order checks from Deluxe or one of their

subsidaries, that they send personal information to Chexsystems and to

Deluxe's collection agencies? They send your acount number, address,

phone number, and more. Do not order checks through Deluxe, Current

Checks, Designer Checks, or Checks Unlimited. They also send

information to other companies such as Debit Bureau, EFunds, and

SCAN.

The Style check company seems okay and it does state that they keep

all information confidential. Just always make sure that it isn't

owned by Chex. They also keep information on file such as your account

number, check numbers etc. Be Careful is all I am saying because there

have been people who ordered checks and then chexsystems contacts

thier bank realizing they have an account to let them know they are on

chexsystems. Some situations where accounts were closed just from

ordering checks.

Suggestions: Style Checks , Walmart, Identity, Checkworks

Thank you for contacting The Check Gallery. No, we are not affiliated

with Deluxe Corp. If you have any further questions, please feel free

to email me again. Thank you.

MCA,

My account I need to order checks with is through BOA. Since they're normally chex-friendly anyway, would I most likely be okay order checks through Checks Unlimited? I'm not familiar with Style or The Check Gallery.

Thanks.

I think you would be okay unless you have fraud reported to chex. Then I would definitely not use any affiliate of Deluxe. BOA is not what I would really consider chex-friendly. I mean yes, they are opening accounts left and right for people on chexsystems. But they do still use Chexsystems and now also EWS. Some people have been turned down already due to EWS. I really can not imagine BOA closing all the accounts that they opened for those on chexsystems. But I do still worry. In the past BOA was one of the banks that would freeze and close accounts at times. It was never as often as WAMU and Wells Fargo, but there were times they would practice the same policy.

Ok MCA let me know. I'm a member on your website and I posted that I ordered from Checks in the Mail. I didn't have any problems, but I thought you said that were acquired by a Chex reporting company? I ordered back in Aug 2007. It's not on my Chex report either.

Thanks

I just got my Chex report & have only used Checks In The Mail the last few times I've ordered. I think my last order thru CITM was in 2006, tho. My ordering history on Chex was blank.

you would have to find out what company the bank uses

If you have an HP laser and a MICR toner cartidge, you can print Quicken checks (the check stock as available at Staples and OfficeMax).

In all seriousness, if you're in this kind of position, one way to mitigate it is to move your retirement accounts to the bank you're checking account is at. If you don't even have a retirement account, then go open an IRA at your bank and start putting your pre-tax and after-tax savings contributions in there.

No bank is going to be stupid enough to close your checking account to have you turn up at a branch and wipe out your savings and IRA and move the business to a credit union.

If you're habitually using OD and you have no savings or other deposit accounts at the bank, and then they see a Chex entry on you; well of course they will shut you down. The bank's risk managers will assume that the chances that you'll bounce something and then skip town on them are pretty good.

May have already been mentioned but Walmart does not use Chex. There have been rumors that they use EWS but I have yet to have an issue with them. I am in EWS but they have never declined my order. Though it is worth noting I am an Associate.
