Hi guys, I have had quite a number of people send me PM’s on advice for Arrow. So, I chose to make this thread. And PLEASE keep it confined to arrow. If you have beat them, let others know how also.

Ok, if you haven’t already, go to budhibbs.com and research arrow. You can also dig up info by the BBB website.

So, after the FIRST dunning letter, send out a LIMITED cease and desist/DV request. This should be done within 1-2 business days by US mail CMRR.

Pull the 1-2 punch if possible.

Now you’ve got the phone to stop ringing. (If not, note it for FDCPA violations).

Make a timeline, you’ll see later why it’s important.

Example:

12-1-06 got first dunning letter

12-2-06 sent DV request by CMRR

You get the picture. More than likely they won’t validate. If they do, it won’t amount to true validation.

So if they are “Stuck†on your report and wont move, file a complaint with the BBB. You can do it online.

Here’s a tip: Don’t dispute everything in the BBB complaint. If the BBB chooses to have it “closed by administrationâ€, then you can start a new complaint based on a DIFFERENT violation.

They wont answer online. They will send info by US mail. Now if you waited to send DV outside the 30 day timeframe, you will get a generic letter. This letter is word for word the same with everyone I have talked to about it.

The generic letter says:

“Your time to request DV has expiredâ€. (Now you see why went sent the DV letter out so soon?) “We have asked the CRA’s to remove any negative info we may have reported.

Two points here:

“Remove†they said, not delete.

“Negative Infoâ€. The TL remains, but they find a way to make it positive.

Your time to request DV should never expire, but that’s a whole different topic.

Ask again for DV. They wont send it. Now they are reporting to the CRA’s and gave you nothing.

Here’s another common scam they pull.

They will only report on 2 of the 3 CRA’s. Why is this? A backup plan. When you finally get those two deleted, they show up on the THIRD cra. Since they didn’t report there before, technically it’s not a re-insertion.

So now they removed the “negative infoâ€. They now report the new TL as “Data factoringâ€. (That’s a whole other topic also.)

Data factoring to them is not negative.

When you fight this TL, they will send you a “Universal Data Formâ€. They say it must be filled out before deletion. That’s BS.

It wants to know EVERYTHING about you. Job, addresses, accounts, you name it. Don’t answer this piece of crap paper.

If all else fails, go to the State AG office in their state AND yours. Then file a complaint with the FTC and send them a copy.

They sold one account to a law firm after I requested DV. Here’s the response:

We have received your request for DV. Be advised that Scumbag and Assoc are now handling the account.

We have requested DV from the OC and will forward it to the Assoc upon our receipt.

Now what’s wrong here? They just admitted they had nothing!! If they did, they would have no need to request it from the OC. It’s fun to watch them hang themselves. It's even more fun to let them know they hung themselves.

So for those of you who have beat them, feel free to jump in.

I have no promise that this will work for everyone. I know there will be people who may object to these tactics I gave you, but that’s fine. I’m simply telling you what worked for me.

Keep in mind that these tactics are not limited to arrow. they could work for any CA.

Good Luck!!!!

Im fighting this beast now...

I am getting ready to do battle with them...I think this thread will certainly be appreciated by many!

Thanks for getting it going!

I had two arrow accounts. Sent them 3 dv's which they never responded to, then filed a BBB complaint. They folded quickly after that.

The BBB is your friend. Use them. I havent used the AG yet, but many do. Take your time, rack up the violations and then nail them.

Thanks for this thread. I just posted a question in its own thread, but will post it here too. I DV'd Arrow twice and they now have referred the account to Pioneer CR - I just got a letter from them today demanding me to pay it. What do I do now?

Posted

I just pulled my TrueCredit this morning and the Arrow TL is gone from TU and EX!!!!! I just did another dispute with EQ, so I'm guessing it will go away from there soon! I'm so excited!!! My fear now though is that it will show up under Pioneer CR. Is this likely to happen? I just received the dunning letter yesterday and will send a DV to them this week. Is there anything else I can do?

Good job. Arrow crashes and Burns again.

If you sent the DV request soon enough, they cant report to the CRA's til they validate.

Thats one way to beat them to the reports, so to speak.

I helped my fiancee defeat Arrow. Over the past several months I sent 2 DV letters and attempted a 1-2 punch that didn't work. Ultimately I ended up filing an online complaint with the BBB. This was around mid-December, and I received a letter in the mail today promising deletion from all three CRA's within 60-90 days. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Can you give more detail as to what your debt they were collecting on. I.E. CO Medical Collection. What was it and for how much?

As per the FDCPA, they are supposed to get their proof from the OC and then send that proof to you. They are not supposed to send you what they may already have on their computers. They did exactly as they are supposed to do.

So for those of you who have beat them, feel free to jump in.

It was a First Premier credit card for $352. I believe they were unable to obtain the validation information from First Premier, which forced their hand.

Try aca and the illinois dept of financial and professional regulation. You can file a complaint online for the latter. I just send ACA, Dept of regulation, bbb, IL AG, ftc and OK AG disputes a few weeks ago. The IL dept of AG said that they were suing Arrow for something else and I am waiting for everyone else. Arrow sent me a letter asking for their file.

just curious, are you within the SOL for your state or not...I too am dealing with thee scumbags re First Prem and they have yet to validate, however I have two more years before I am out of SOL (4 yrs for California)

It took me two years of fighting with them, but in the last week, I FINALLY got rid of them. I sent them innumerable requests for validation, ignored of course. They did manage to continue to "verify" to the CRAs.

I sent them a FINAL NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE SUIT, faxed and mailed to it them with a demand for $1000.00 settlement, deletion from my credit reports, and a provision that this bogus debt could NOT be sold to another debt buyer or reassigned, and if that happened, I reserved my right to file suit at a later time. Got a nasty letter from their "Senior Coporate Counsel", stating that my demand for validation was "untimely", but agreed to delete, as well as not to sell. We shall see what we shall see.

If you would like a copy of the letter I sent them, PM me, and I will send it to you.

I've got Arrow on all three of my reports right now, 313 dollars they claim I owe to First Premier much like the others. I've justed started the process so I'm waiting for the results of my blanket disputes before I try anything else, but this thread is very informative. One question though, what course of action should I take if I'm not being harrassed by them. I've never received anything from them, that I can recall and they don't have my phone number so they aren't calling me. If the disputes come back verified from the CRA's, what should be my next step with Arrow since I don't need a C&D, since they aren't actively trying to collect, right? They are however reporting the chargeoff as 120+ days late on every report since 2004.

It's my account, but I'm nearly positive I paid it. I had this and a few Providian accounts at the same time, and I paid them all and closed them just prior to purchasing our home. Providian accounts are showing correct, good standing, closed by consumer never late. But the First Premier says:

First Premier Bank

Date Opened: 11/2002

Last Reported: 10/2004

Account closed at consumer's request (that part is right)

Charge off as of Sept. 2003-Oct 2004

Purchased by Another lender (arrow)

The Arrow entry says

Arrow Financial Services

Date Opened: 10/2005

Reported Since: 02/2006

Date of Status: 10/2004

Last Reported: 07/2007

Recent balance: 373.00 as of 07/2007

Account History:

Collection as of Apr. 2006 to Jul 2007, Feb 2006

Anything pop out at you, Jack? Edited to add, I'm in NC, 3 years SOL, if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, NC CC accounts are 3 years for the SOL.

If you feel you paid it off, write to the OC and ask for a payment history. The account got sent to arrow when it wasnt paid, so it seems.

Have you paid anything to arrow? If not, see when to last payment to the OC was. That way you will know if you are out of the SOL.

I have them on Federal and TFC violations. The ITS letter goes out to them and bonding Company in the morning. I may be wrong here but I am not messing with them. They failed to answer DV and if they fail to answer ITS, we are going to court!!
